Course Description:(Semester Course)
United States Government will offer you the ability to explore, expand, and compose thorough and complete skills that will assist you both inside and outside of this classroom. Daily activities will challenge you to master content while sharpening your reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Both individual and group work will be a focal point of a student-centered atmosphere guided by state standards and classroom expectations.

*YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO KEEP TRACK OF YOUR OWN GRADES DURING THE GRADING PERIOD. ANY DISCPREPANCIES BETWEEN YOUR RECORDS AND INFORMATION PROVIDED IN THE GRADE BOOK/PROGRESS REPORTS SHOULD BE DISCUSSED IMMEDIATELY. IT IS ALSO SUGGESTED THAT ALL GRADED ASSIGNMENTS BE SAVED FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
Responsibilities:
Preparation: You are 100% responsible for your own success in this class. Come to class each day prepared.
Tardiness: Come to class on time! YOU WILL BE DEDUCTED PARTICIPATION POINTS IF TARDY WITHOUT A PASS
Absences: Make-up work is your responsibility!You will have up to ONE full class period to complete missed work and/or scheduled make up tests. You must come to me and ask what you have missed.
Late Work Policy: Any missing work will be considered a zero if not turned in by the end of the day on the designated due date. I will not accept any missing work.
Classroom Rules:
***In order to be successful in this class, you must adhere to what is expected of you. There will be a zero tolerance policy for certain behaviors in the classroom. If any of the following relate to your behavior, your participation grade will be affected:
- Using foul, inappropriate, racial, or disturbing language
- Distracting and Disrupting other students, teachers, and faculty
- Use of cell phone, Ipod, Ipad, tablet, gaming system, music device, head phones etc. (when not authorized)
- Consistently sleeping in class
- ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINK IN THE CLASSROOM
**If you fail to abide by any of these policies, action will take place. Your grade can be affected, your device will be confiscated, and further discipline will be acted upon if warranted.
Behavior:
As soon as you enter Room 115, you are entering a room epitomized by respect. We are all young adults. As stated, behavior disrespecting other students, teachers, faculty, and staff will not be tolerated within my classroom. Following daily routines will lead you toward success in this class.
