Books read this week, “Alphabet Rescue,” “Eating the Alphabet” and “The Letters are Lost.” We have been working hard on recognizing and naming letters and words that begin with those letters.

In small groups, we used wooden pieces to make our letters. We used “big lines, short lines, big curves and small curves.”

We also practiced writing our names and drew self portraits for November.

We also painted hands for turkeys and painted a paperplate for a name turkey.

We had a Veteran come in on Tuesday to read to our classes in honor of Veterans’ Day this week. We said “thank you” to this Veteran and we talked about saying thank you to all people who serve whether it is military, police, fire etc. This Veteran told about his job in the army. We enjoyed this!

This Veteran happens to be my son! Steve O’Dear Jr.

Just a heads up: Our donuts/dining with Dads is coming up. Mark your calendar for December 6! We hope we have someone for every child. This can be Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, aunt, Mom, Grandma or even a family friend!

Important Dates:

November 15 – Bonker’s Night.

Monday, Nov. 21, we will be taking a field trip to Tri-Township Fire department to learn about the job of a fireman!

November 22 – Defiant Chicken skit

November 23, 24, 25, No school for Thanksgiving!

Home visits are going well! Thank you to all that scheduled with me and being there when we arrive! Your child loves having us come to “their house!”

We are working on letter J this week. We found words such a jaguar, jelly, jolly, Jeep, jump, jet, and jellybean.

Next week, we will learn about letter Zz.
