Mountain Records, George Christiansen: Following is an update regarding the recent fires and Closure Orders:

  1. Erskine Fire Closure (Southern Sierra -- Lake Isabella area)

Closure Order 16-2 has been rescinded, George Christiansen via email, November 11, 2016.

Heald and Nicholls are open to hike.

  1. Cedar Fire Closure ( Southern Sierra -- Kernville area)

Previous "open to the public" notice, but cautionary due to continual hot spots, has been modified by additional closure orders 16-27 and 16-28, effective October 26, 2016. Sunday and Bohna are now legally closed, Split and Black are legally accessible, but due to continual smoldering of the fire, all will remain suspended by the Management Committee due to safety concerns. (George/Mat/Approved)

  1. Pine Fire Closure -- Los Padres

No change -- the area remains closed, including the road and trail into Reyes, but Reyes was not burned, and the Closure is due to expire when the fire is out - currently still smoldering. Recommendation -- leave Haddock and Beartrap Bluff suspended. (George/Mat/Approved)

  1. Blue Cut Fire -- (San Bernardino NF near Wrightwood)

Closure Order 05-12-53-16-03 (difficult to find) remains in affect from Sept 13, 2016 thru Sept 2, 2017. Recommendation -- leave Gobblers Knob and Circle Mountain suspended.

  1. Rey Fire -- Los Padres, Dry Canyon Road to Lizard Head has been re-opened.

No suspensions in the area are recommended.
