SXSW Visitors Set to Crank it Up at the PRS Shred Shed
(STEVENSVILLE, MD)March, 11, 2014–PRS Guitars is the official sponsorof the SXSW “Shred Shed,” a new soundproof space at the 2014 SXSW Music Expo. The Shred Shed will be outfitted with the latest PRS guitars and amplifiers and will include two soundproof booths where guitarists can walk in, shut the door, plug in and shred away. Located in the Austin Convention Center Exhibit Hall 5, the PRS Shred Shed is also a great place for music lovers to chat with PRS staff and showcasing PRS artists while testing out new gear.
A full set of PRS’s new American-made S2 guitars including the S2 Mira, S2 Starla, S2 Singlecut, S2 Custom24 and S2 Custom 22 will be available to play. In addition, attendees will be able to test out the piezo-equipped P22 and the SE Angelus acoustic steel string. PRS will have the new 100 watt high-gain Archon, the 2 Channel Custom 50, and the Sweet 16 Comboamplifiers as well as a few 4x12 cabs for showcasing artists and attendees to test drive.
In addition to gear testing and access to PRS staff and artists, including Isaac Ellsworthand Stephen Holmes of MoneyPenny scheduled for Friday at 2:00, PRS is hosting an S2 Made-in-Maryland guitar giveaway. Visitors can stop by the booth and fill out a quick entry form for their chance to win. The S2 series guitars,which start at $1179, are built at PRS Guitars Maryland facility by skilled craftsmen and considered one of the most significant product launches in the company’s history. The S2 series offers the quality, sound and playability with a retro-inspired vibe that has attracted musicians across a wide diverse group of genres ranging from Indie, to Country, Punk, Rock and Metal.
