This Addendum forms a part of the Contract Documents and modifies the original Bidding Documents identified as bid #B38-11-12 dated5/12/12. Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in the space provided on the Bid Form. Failure to do so may subject the Bidder to disqualification.

  1. CHANGES TO PRIOR ADDENDA: N/A
  2. CHANGES TO BIDDING REQUIREMENTS:
  1. For every Bid, hardware for Doors 100A, 107A and 125A is to be included.
  2. SCCOE does not require that bid respondents use a preferred bond form for bid, payment and performance bonds.
  3. For project dates and information please see the revised schedule attached.
  4. Provide three add alternates on the enclosed revised bid form for Restroom 104/105; Restroom 126; and Changing Room 117 as follows:
  1. Add Alternate #01: Please provide separate cost for Painting;
  2. Add Alternate #02: Please provide separate cost for Flooring;
  3. Add Alternate #03: Please provide separate cost for Fire Alarm

  2. 220500 – Plumbing Systems – removed 2.01: B, 2.06: G, K, L and M.

  2. CLARIFICATION OF SCOPE OF WORK:
  1. Remove all existing sinks and toilets and safe off with the exception of interior office sink. Per asbestos abatement schedule.
  2. Demolition of all flooring will be handled by the abatement contractor and not part of scope of work. Will be completed following removal and safe off.
  3. Provide 4 fire extinguishers. 1 per classroom.
  4. For restroom fixtures the following are needed:
  5. RM105: WC-1, L-2
  6. RM104: (2)WC-3, (2)L-1
  7. RM126: (2)WC-3, (2)L-1
  8. RM117: L-2
  1. PRE-BID RFI RESPONSES
  1. Per page A1.7, detail 10, it is calling for hot mopping per IR 23-2. Please clarify if hot mopping is required?
  2. ANSWER: Yes. Mopping is required.
  3. Per page A.1.7, detail 11, it is calling for shaped clear cedar behind the wall. Please advise if something else can be used?
  4. ANSWER: Yes. Any hard wood without knots could be used.
  5. Please clarify if FRP is full height? Is the FRP on all 4 walls?
  6. ANSWER: Yes. All four walls are full height.
  7. What is the status of the asbestos survey?
  8. ANSWER: Included in this addendum.
  9. Are we responsible for the Fire Alarms?
  10. ANSWER: Please see Changing of Bidding Requirements.
  11. Will there be a special bid bond form that we will need to use? There is not one attached.
  12. ANSWER: Please see II Changes to bidding requirements.
  13. Page 3, project schedule, of the specs says Notice to proceed Friday 5/25/12 and Construction Complete Friday 7/22/12 – this is only 58 calendar days. Which of the above is to be applied for this project?
  14. ANSWER: Please see revised project schedule.
  15. Bid docs on SCCOE web site has a section 099100 Painting specification. Bid docs on Weston Miles share file site does not have a section 0099100 Painting specification. Which set of bid docs are we supposed to use?
  16. ANSWER: Section 099100 Painting is listed on Weston Miles Share file site. Go to bid documents, then to Specs.

Plumbing Clarifications:

  1. There are no provisions for hot water (all cold only?)
  2. ANSWER: See note 8 & 9 on sheet E1.1 for new hot water heaters to be installed.
  3. Is there natural gas?
  4. ANSWER: None
  5. No condensate?
  6. ANSWER: None
  7. No drinking fountains?
  8. ANSWER: None
  9. No hose bibs?
  10. ANSWER: None
  11. Only 2 floor drains?
  12. ANSWER: None
