1. Read 1 Corinthians 9:15-27.

2. Read verses 15-16. What does Paul mean when he says that he is under compulsion to preach the gospel? What is the gospel? Did Paul have a right to be paid for preaching the gospel?

3. Read verse 17-18. How was Paul's offering the gospel without charge a reward? What does that indicate about Paul's attitude toward the gospel? What should my attitude be toward the gospel?

4. Read verse 19. Why did Paul make himself a slave to all? To what was he winning them?

5. Read verses 20-23. What does it mean for Paul to become as a Jew, as one under the Law, and as one without the law? What was his overarching objective (v. 23)?

6. Read verse 24. In what race are believers running? How do you win in that race?

7. Read verse 25. How does an athlete exercise self-control? What is the athlete's prize? What is the weakness of that prize? What is the prize for the believer who wins the race?

8. Read verses 26-27. How do you live a disciplined life when it comes to the gospel? How are you doing with discipline? How would Paul be disqualified?
