Visiting Teaching Associate
Agricultural Leadership and Science Education Program

Position: Visiting Teaching Associate, Agricultural Leadership and Sciences Education, full-time, nine month, non-tenure-track appointment . Position may become regular at a later date.
Description: The program seeks a visiting teaching associate who will provide leadership and assistance necessary to foster the development of the Agricultural Leadership and Sciences Education Program through teaching courses and coordination of undergraduate advising and internship programs.
Responsibilities:
- Instruct courses in the area of agricultural leadership and sciences education, including, but not limited to, professional development in agricultural leadership, training needs assessment, leadership, ethics, and multi-culturalism, and introduction to leadership studies.
- Coordination of the internship program in agricultural leadership and provide supervision to students while conducting early field experiences and internships.
- Coordinate the teacher education clinical experience program.
- Serve as undergraduate advising coordinator and assist faculty in advising students including the selection of appropriate courses, monitoring academic standing and fulfillment of graduation requirements.
- Provide leadership, with the assistance of faculty and staff, in undergraduate student recruitment .
- Represent the Agricultural Leadership and Sciences Education Program on campus and statewide advisory committees as appropriate.
Additional Activities:
- Assist faculty with research projects in support of the Agricultural Leadership and Sciences Education Program.
- Assist faculty with development of reports, proposals, and articles.
- Foster opportunities and increase the awareness of the Agricultural Leadership and Sciences Education Program on a local, state, and national level.
Qualifications: Minimum requirements include: Master’s Degree in agricultural education, leadership education, community and economic development, science education, teacher education or equivalent; leadership experience in educational programming; three years of teaching experience in non-formal education or classroom instruction; willingness to work both independently and collaboratively to foster positive change; proven commitment to support and implement programs that foster and sustain diversity; ability to work and travel to some evening and weekend events and conferences; experience working as mentor to interns is preferred.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
