Starting the lesson:
Reviewing “what´s your name/ how old are you?
- Ask leaners in turn What´s your name? /How old are you?
Presenting the classroom objects
- Hold up each flashcard in turn. Say the word for learners to repeat in chorus.
- Do this three or four times.
- Hold up each flashcard for learners to say the word in chorus.
- Stick the flashcards on the board or around the room.
Practising the classroom objects
- Learners look at the picture in their SB.
- Play track 5.
- Learners point to the objects and the words when they hear them.
- Play again. Learners repeat the words.
- Learners practise pointing and naming in pairs.
Giving learners further practice
- Play track 6. Learners listen and follow the chant in their SB.
- Play the recording again, pausing after verse for learners to repeat.
- Do the chant as a class and then in groups.
- Learners put the objects, e.g. pen and pencil case, on their desks.
- Learners do the chant again, holding up the relevant objects when them.
Personalising and practising the new language.
- Learners close their books.
- In pairs, they take turns to name the classroom objects on the desk.
Practising writing the names of classroom objects.
- Learners look at the images and complete the crossword.
Reviewing language.
- Display the flashcards around the room and say an object and learners point the flashcard.
- Point to flashcards randomly and learners say the words.
Extra, extra
Vocabulary game
- Learners drawn a 2 × 2 grid in their ANB.
- Learners drawn one object in each square. Learners choose which h they want to draw.
- Say objects at random and when learners hear the object, they cross it out.
- The learner(s) who cross(es) out all four is/are the winner(s).
