AGENDA TOPICS

1.  President welcome everyone. Meeting opened 7:09pm.

2.  Confirmation / reading of minutes from 21/07/15 (Moved N Abela/ Passed E Scott)

3.  New Members – Dr Samuel Purcell, Ms Rebecca Rowling, Karen Darlington, Jamie Darlington, Vicki Bradford – all passed – (Moved T Howard / Passed G Robinson)

4.  Treasurers report – Current balance at end of August $16260.55. Cash takings from the shows $5623.25 / takings for the whole weekend including entries (not including invoicing for breed club lunches) $10446.25 – expenses $4668.25, profit $5778.00. Recommendations – canteen an excellent source for fundraising, if we have the opportunity to repeat in 2016 we should strongly consider. Consideration for a term deposit of the $10 000 sitting in the account, which will still allow us $6K+ for expenses – group consensus agreed to go ahead, with Jason to research. 5.  Secretary report – Currently have 104 members including tonight’s new passed members. Many thanks to the people who gave up 3 days to successfully run the canteen on our show weekend, as well as the committee and all volunteers who gave up their time for our Open and Champ shows. Both ran smoothly, and very positive feedback received.

6.  Rescue Update – Still chasing the rescue where they fraudulently paid. Have sought police advise and it is deemed a civil matter. Treasurer to continue chasing. Moving forward process will be full payment, with a refund (minus $100) given if they return the dog within 7 days. Microchip details, new owners license, etc, to be taken in future. 7.  2016 Open and Champ shows – we have a lead on an international judge, David to chase. May be considering a local judge, with international for 2017. Open show judge to be confirmed at next meeting. (Moved I Davis / Passed N Abela)

8.  Fun Day – Sunday 15th November @ 8.30am, Decker Park Brighton, Christmas Party for the club, new games, prizes, Kelly to chase. (Moved K McClelland/ Passed I Davis)

9.  Canteen for 2016 – round table discussion – do we do it again? Yes – Kelly to email Dogs QLD to request canteen for our show weekend 2016. We need a firm roster in advance. Minimum 4 people per shift, 3 shifts per day. (Moved K McClelland/ Passed J Bovey)

10.  Judges for 2016 – Ongoing discussion. Were Pringham Kennels contacted? Not yet, judges to be sourced between now and next meeting. Who is the judge for the BB and Boston clubs for 2016? – result, Lucas and David to follow up, This needs to be dealt with as a matter of urgency (Moved T Howard / Passed G Robinson)

11.  2016 Sponsorship for shows – Canidae to be followed up again (Kelly), also JWV (David), incoming promotions and fund raising manager to sort out post AGM (Moved M Robinson / Passed I Davis)

12.  The French Festival – Emily – ongoing. TFF is on the 7th and 8th November. Expecting 10000+ people over the two days, merchandise to be ordered (KMc, EC), 4 volunteers per day to discuss breed, and also 4 dogs needed for fashion parade. 13.  T-Shirt Campaign – design ideas – we only have 4 shirts left – Lucas to send Tania the previous quotes and designs. Tania is happy to follow through and present up to date quotes and designs at the next general meeting (Moved K McClelland / Passed N Abela)

14.  Questions / What makes a breeder clarification – Michelle Robinson – round table discussion, points raised * what is considered a reputable breeder * minimum health testing required * price expectancy * online entities and general slander re club members *general flyer for fun days with FAQ’s. Kelly and David to discuss and re-present at the next meeting. Do we reproduce current booklet with amendments? Ongoing

15.  Incoming Correspondence

·  President and Vice President received a complaint from a puppy owner. Ian to discuss club’s stance with Dogs QLD – found to be a personal matter, has been responded to in writing and the club considers the matter closed.

·  Jo Collins has offered assistance with any tasks that can be done remotely – many thanks

·  Club contacted by Ricky Clennar regarding “Pawbase” regarding promotion of breeders. Advised to contact the individual breeders.

·  Dogs QLD – fee increase advisement via email
