March 3, 2016--Vance Joy has unveiled the video for his song “Straight Into Your Arms,” from the special edition of his album dream your life away. Watch the video here.
Directed by UK-based director Toby Ashenheim, the video sees two puppets engaged in a stirring and emotional dance, mirrored by their human shadows. The video took months to create – the dolls animated predominantly by hand using strings and basic rigging to simulate dancing, with 3D animation taking care of more complex movements.
Vance Joy is currently in the midst of the “fire and the flood” tour, performing at Los Angeles’s Shrine Expo Auditorium tonight. The tour marks his first since serving as direct support for Taylor Swift on her “1989 World Tour.” Most dates have sold out, and some cities have seen added shows and venue upgrades (see itinerary below).
In other news, dream your life away has been certified gold in the US, where Vance Joy was the #1 artist played at Alternative radio last year. Dream your life away is certified platinum in Canada and Vance Joy’s native Australia. His current single, “fire and the flood,” appears on the special edition of the album, and is currently climbing the Hot AC chart.
