- 10-12 page paper: Failure to incorporate at least 10 recent peer reviewed references (last 6 years)
- 15-20 page paper: Failure to incorporate at least 15 recent peer reviewed references(last 6 years)

Plagiarism
The following are considered examples of plagiarism and must be forwarded to the program director to be dealt with according to the Athabasca University plagiarism policies. Penalties will be applied based on those policies.
- Failure to cite sources
- Failure to properly paraphrase
- Submission of previous coursework
- Copying an entire paper
