GENERAL RULES FOR INTERNATIONAL KYOKUSHIN KARATE

TOURNAMENT

AMONG CHILDREN AND JUNIORS AGED 6-13

  1. Goal of tournament: to identify the strongest sportsmen in Kumite section.

Tasks:
- to increase skills and level of sports mastership of contestants
-promotion of healthy lifestyle, Kyokushin Karate.
2. Organization and financing of the tournament:

2.1. The direct organizer of the tournament is Gomel Center of Martial Arts. Expenses for judges (12 people) and medical assistance are covered by the Department of Education, Sports and Tourism of Gomel Executive Council. The department also awards the winners with diplomas.

2.3. Expenses connected with sending participants, heads (travel, accommodation, food) shall be borne by sending organizations.

2.3. Winners and prize-winners will be awarded with cups, medals and diplomas.

4. Participants of the Tournament:

4.1. Requirements for contestants appearance
- clean white do-gi with appropriate qualification belt
4.2. Credentials requirements:
- passport
- qualification proof
- doctor's permit
- written statement of contestant's parent – Annex 1

- accident insurance
4.3. Protection:
Each eligible contestant must have protective means: instep protectors, hand pads, helmets, bandages; breast protectors are compulsory for girls
5. Age groups and weight categories:

Boys – weight categories, kg
6-7 y.o. up to 20 kg, 25 kg, 30 kg, 35 kg, above 35 kg
8-9 y.o. up to 25 kg, 30 kg, 35 kg, 40 kg, above 40 kg
10-11 y.o. up to 30 kg, 35 kg, 40 kg , 45 kg, above 45 kg

12-13 y.o. up to 35 kg, 40 kg, 45 kg, 50 kg, above 50 kg
Girls – weight categories will be specified after applications submission.
Weigh categories are subject to modify after applications submission and meeting of the Judges Board. Modifications are approved by the Judges Board provided that difference in weight of the contestants does not exceed 5 kg.

6. Tournament rules:

6.1. The Tournament is held according to the international Kyokushin Kan Karate (in Kumite section) rules
6.2. Time limits of fights:
Duration of fights
6-7 y.o – 1 min + 30 sec (any difference in weight)
8-9 y.o. – 1 min + 30 sec (difference 1 kg) + 30 sec
10-11 y.o. – 1.5 min + 1 min + weighing (difference 1 kg) + 30 sec

12-13 y.o. – 2 min + 1 min + weighing (difference 2 kg) + 1 min
Judges decisions:
The Tournament is held according to single elimination algorithm, fights for the 3rd place will be provided.
Claims:
Claims are filed in writing by official representatives of the teams to the Chief Judge, within 10 minutes after the end of the fight.

The decision of the Chief Judge of the Tournament is final and not subject to appeal.
7. Judges:
7.1. The competition is served by Gomel judges: The Chief Judge of the Tournament, timekeeper, secretary, corner judges - 16 people, referees on tatami - 4 people. Total 23 people.
7.2. The Chief Judge of the Tournament – Martyukhin (3 Dan), responsible Secretary – Klimenkova O.M.
