AUTOTEST SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS

1. The Bedford Car Club will organise a Clubsport Permit Autotest and Production Car Autotest on
28th August 2004 at Willington, Beds (153 / 117496).

2. The meeting will be governed by the General Regulations of the Motor Sports Association Ltd (incorporating the provisions of the International Sporting Code of the FIA), these Supplementary Regulations and any written instructions that the organising club may issue for the event.

3. MSA Permits have been applied for.

4. The event is open to all members of the club and of Club Triumph.

5. All competitors must produce a valid Club Membership Card.

6. The event is a round of the BCC Autotest Championship.

7. The program of the meeting will be:-

Scrutineering starts at 09:00.

Any competitor not signed on by 09:45 may be excluded.

First car starts at 10:00.

8. The event will consist of classes as follows. In addition specific marque awards may be made for Club Triumph entrants, subject to entries.

AUTOTEST CLASSES

1) Specials

2) Sports cars up to an overall length of 13' 4".

3) Saloon cars, front wheel drive, maximum overall length 11'.

4) Saloon cars, engine over driven wheels, maximum overall length 14'.

5) All other cars.

Car derived vans accepted in the relevant car class.

4 wheel drive and vans over 8cwt NOT permitted.

PRODUCTION CAR AUTOTEST CLASSES (F12)

6) All cars up to and including 12' long

7) All cars over 12' and up to and including 14' long

8) All cars over 14' long

All PCA cars must have been in series production and on general catalogued sale, available from stock through normal retail dealer outlets in the UK. Open or sports cars must have the hood erected or a hard top fitted. All PCA cars must be driven to the event, must be currently registered, taxed and insured and have a valid MOT certificate if appropriate, which must be available at scrutineering.

All PCA cars MUST carry one passenger who may assist by directing the driver. The passenger must be seated alongside the driver and wearing a properly fastened approved seatbelt at all times during the tests. If the driver holds a valid non-provisional RTA licence, the passenger must be 14 years of age or over. If the driver is 14, 15 or 16 and/or holds a provisional RTA licence, the passenger must hold a non-provisional RTA licence and be a driver entered in the event.

9. All vehicles must comply with MSA Technical Regulations.

E12.17 Silencers must be fitted.

10. Awards will be presented as follows:-

FTD in Autotest An award

FTD in PCA “

Best Lady overall (on index) "

Best Novice overall (on index) "

Best Junior (on index in PCA classes) “

All awards will be perpetual.

A novice will not have previously won an award on any Autotest (except Junior or Ladies Award) in the 12 months prior to the date of this event.

11.  The entry list opens on publication and closes finally at 17:00 on 27th August.

Entries will be accepted at signing-on, providing advance telephone notice is given to the Secretary of the Meeting.

The entry fee is £12.00. All entries must be made on the official entry form and accompanied by the appropriate fee.

13. The maximum entry for the meeting, including reserves is 35.

The minimum is 10.

The maximum for each class is 25, the minimum is 3.

Should any of these minimum figures not be reached, the organisers have the right to cancel the meeting or amalgamate classes as necessary.

Entries will be selected by order of receipt of entry form and fee.

Entry fees may be refunded on cancellation, or withdrawal of entry before the closing date.

Junior entries are invited in the Autotest from 16 or 17 year old drivers in saloon cars of 1600cc maximum. (14 or 15 year olds may enter the PCA only, as SR 8. above).

15. Provisional results will be published as soon as possible following the end of the event.

16. Any protest must be lodged in accordance with O5.

17. a) Details of tests will be issued at signing-on.

b) Each driver will have 2 runs at each test. Best time to count for results.

c) Timing will be by hand held stopwatch.

d) The starting signal will be in own time after verbal permission from timekeeper.

e) Order of attempting tests will be specified on the day.

18. Practising will not be allowed.

19. Competitors will be identified by time cards issued at signing-on.

20. F7.2.2 Marking and penalties will be as per the ‘Autotest’ column in Table 1 for all classes, with the additional penalty of exclusion from the event for reckless driving anywhere in the immediate vicinity of the event site, including any incursion on to any cultivated area.

F5.1.6 Drivers may correct an error by retracing their route (“reversing out”), providing that, in doing so, they do not contravene another specific route instruction.

21. All other General Regulations of the MSA apply, except for the following, which are modified:-

F11.8.1 Non PCA cars need not be taxed or registered as the event is held entirely on private land.

F11.8.3 Light Commercial Vehicles are permitted.

no off-road or winter pattern tyres (knobblies) may be used.

22. The test area is short grass.
