Correction Policy: If a student desires, they will be given the option to make corrections on TESTS (not quizzes). The student must show work for the problems they got wrong (no points for just an answer) and will receive a portion of the points back to their test grade. Students will have about a week to complete the corrections. The corrections must be turned in with the test.
Homework: Homework will be assigned several times a week and will be either checked for completeness (100/50/0 points) or collected and graded. You must copy the original problem and show all work to receive full credit. There will not be an announcement of when homework will be collected. All assignments NOT completed will be issued a zero. Late homework will NOT be accepted
Absences (Make-Up Work): It is your responsibility to get the notes when absent from class. Do not come to class exclaiming: “I was not here, what did I miss?!” Check the homework website for homework assignments. You have as many days as you were absent to make up the work. If you are absent on the day of a test or quiz, it is your responsibility to see me to schedule a make up the test. Tests must be made up within a week’s time from the original test date or it will result in a zero.
School Trips/Vacations/Etc: If you are aware of a trip or an extended absence, please be courteous and notify me several days before you leave. This will allow me to gather the work you need so you will not fall behind when you return to class.
Bathroom Policy: Students will be given 2 passes for the marking period to leave the room (bathroom, locker, etc) . They will cash in a pass to leave the room. Once the passes are gone, students have no passes left to leave the room. At the end of the marking period, if any students have passes left they may cash them in for a point on their marking period grade (1 pass = 1 point).
Classroom Procedures: Immediately begin the Do Now when the bell rings. Do Now is approximately the first 5 minutes of class. The Do Now may or may not be collected. If there was homework, it will be discussed (if it is not collected). This will be followed by notes and small lecture. Afterwards, there will be exercises to apply the skills covered in the notes and lecture.
