  1. PLANNING APPLICATIONS

N/2018/0164 9 Cottesmore Close, NN5 6RW

Single storey and rear extension

The Committee made no observations

N/2018/0181 65 Southfield Road, NN5 6HL

Single storey rear extension with double storey side extension

The Committee made no observations

N/2017/1689 531Harlestone Road

Demolition of existing car services and sales garage and bungalow to the rear and erection of new built office premises

The Committee noted that along this side of the road there is residential housing and so a commercial office block of this kind would not be in keepingwith the street scene. It shares the concerns of other objectors to this application.

Therefore, the Committee opposed this application.

N/2018/0175 198 Main Road, NN5 6RE

Demolition of existing garage. New two storey side extension and single storey rear extension. New mono pitch roof over existing rear extension together with internal alterations.

Whilst the Committee made no observations on the extension itself it did query whether permeable paving should be used in the exterior design.

N/2018/0184 3 Quantock Crescent, NN5 6DN

New annexe, two storey side extension and loft conversion and rear dormer.

The Committee noted the size of the extension and queried whether this exceeds more than the allowed proportion of the original size of the dwelling.

If the application does not exceed this specific proportion of the original size then then committee had no objection.

N/2018/0179 31-33 The Squirrels Inn Public House, 31 – 33 Main Road, NN5 6JF

Installation of play equipment, paving to create hardstanding, new posts with festoon lighting strung between, new sail to create a covered seating area, new close boarded fencing and new metal fence.

The Committee welcomed the application as it would enhance the attractiveness of the village centre and make it a more family friendly venue. The Committee would like there to be an assessment on the impact of the lighting on the surrounding area. The Committee asks that the Borough Council Conservation team is fully consulted on the application as it lies within the conservation area.

N/2018/0216 28 Chiltern Avenue, NN5 6AP
