“What Do 21st Century Kids Think About Outdoor Opportunities?”
Session moderator Denise Meridith, CEO/President of Denise Meridith
Consultants Inc., will lead a panel of youths and youth program leaders via questions, exploring issues ranging from competition from indoor locations like malls to the lure of working outdoors in teams with friends, from technology to enhance outdoor experiences to transportation and access issues. The panel will also discuss how early childhood memories "in the woods" are created and how these memories can be used to encourage time for outdoor recreation during the teens and twenties.

learn about Snowbird ski-area management;

Snowmobiling: 1:00 - 3:00 – Showcase of new-technology snowmobiles
and review of snowmobile-management practices on the Wasatch-Cache National Forest
Snowshoeing: 1:00 - 3:00 – Local snowshoeing program for children will
be discussed during a snowshoe outing (both strenuous and mild outings will be offered)
Walking: 1:00 - 3:00 – Low-impact tour of Snowbird’s environmental-
management facilities
