BOSMANSDAM HIGH SCHOOLYOUNG ADULTS – PREPARED FOR THE FUTURE
From the first beginnings of this school, founded in 1971, young adults have been nurtured and supported not only to survive but also to thrive in a world that has become increasingly demanding mentally, emotionally and physically.
Our educators are dedicated professionals who respect individuality and welcome the opportunity to engage with young people. We see this as a responsibility and a privilege.
We are not an insular institution but open ourselves to new disciplines, opportunities and experiences. This prepares our students for the world outside of the school gates and ensures their future success and happiness.

VISION
TO EQUIP THE LEARNERS OF THIS SCHOOL TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL IN A PRODUCTIVE, DISCIPLINED, SAFE AND POSITIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT.
****************
MISSION
The ethos of the school is based on Christian values and our aim is therefore to instill the following in our learners:
· Passion for life
· Honesty
· Responsibility
· Integrity
· Loyalty
· Reliability
· Personal vision
· Respect
· A positive attitude/Enthusiasm
· Sensitivity towards environment
SCHOOL MOTTO
UNITATE FORTIOR freely translated means "Stronger through unity". As such it confirms our
aim that pupils, parents and teachers stand together.
LANGUAGE MEDIUM
As a parallelmedium school we strive to combine both language groups in a single, united school
community in which respect for the language and culture of both groups receives priority.
For teaching purposes the two language groups in some subjects may have to be grouped together
and in such instances instruction takes place alternately in Afrikaans and English during the same
period. It complies only from Grade 10 onwards. It is therefore imperative that prospective
learners can communicate in Afrikaans and English.
PARENTS
We support our parents in the education of our young people. A good relationship between
parents and the school ensures the success of the educational task. The involvement of our parents
in school activities and functions contributes to a positive approach which promotes further
development and will be to the advantage of our young people. Therefore we always welcome an
open relationship with our parents.
Prospective parents are asked to complete the Parent Involvement form on which they can indicate
how they will be able to make Bosmansdam High School a better school.
