Responding to a Crisis Situation
AccidentFollow these steps regardless of whose fault:
1. / Assess any injuries and immediately call 911 if anyone is injured.
2. / Contact police to file a report.
3. / Contact your Manager.
4. / Do not move the vehicles except as directed by the police or to prevent injury or further damage.
5. / Using the Panera Delivery Vehicle Incident Report, exchange information. If possible, take pictures of the scene.
6. / Do not talk to anyone about how the accident happened except to your manager, the police and your insurance representative.
7. / Do not apologize or discuss liability.
8. / Do not discuss or make promises about payment for damages.
9. / Return to the cafe if the vehicle is safe to drive, if not call the cafe manager for a pick up.
10 / Report accident to your personal auto insurance carrier.
Injury
Follow these steps regardless of whose fault:
Call 911 if injuries do not allow you to return to the cafe. ***remember if in doubt call 911***
If you only have minor injuries immediately call your manager and return to the cafe.
Robbery
Remain calm. Your well-being is much more important than any monetary loss. Do what the person asks in an accommodating way without arguing or hesitating. Try to remember details that may assist in the identification of the criminal.
1. / Wait until it is safe and then call 911.
2. / Call the manager on duty at the bakery-cafe. The manager will then contact the appropriate people by following our Crisis Call Chain.
3. / Do not tell anyone the amount of money or product stolen except your manager. This is to avoid making other Panera Drivers potential target for crimes.
4. / Do not speak to the media. Refer any media inquiries to your manager.
