Canada’s First Internet Payroll System Ready for Launch

WINNIPEG, MB – February 22, 2001 – Canadian Payroll Systems Inc. (CPS) announced today that they have completed the final development phase of the eNETPayroll system. “eNETPayroll offers organizations the ability to process their payroll from any location, be it office, job site, home, country; all you need is a computer and an Internet connection.” said Lyle Scammell, the President and General Manager of Canadian Payroll Systems Inc. “Our web-based payroll solution has successfully completed the beta testing phase and is now being used by several organizations for live payrolls”.

eNETPayroll is Canada's first Internet-based payroll solution. This dedicated web-based service allows you to enter and calculate payrolls (large or small) on the Internet, via a standard Internet connection. “Since eNETPayroll is on the Internet and your organization’s data is on a secure central server, managers from across the country, or around the world can enter, update or view payroll and employee information right from their desks!” said Curtis Scammell, Senior Developer for the Java-based application. “Internet services are fast becoming the way in which people do business and we have brought this flexibility to the payroll industry!”

CPS ensures that each organization’s payroll data is completely secure. When a company signs up to eNETPayroll, they receive a unique company ID and password. This is the only way to access a given organization private payroll information. The system supports user ID's which can be configured to allow users access to only the specific payroll information that they require. Since the payroll information is stored at a secure central location, organizations no longer have to be concerned about computer failures near payroll time. This also allows CPS to take care of software upgrades automatically.

The eNETPayroll system offers a complete range of functions that are required to calculate even complex payrolls. This includes the ability to change company information (company name, address, contacts, control information), manage Revenue Canada and Quebec accounts, manage groups and users, setup templates, define functions, earnings, deductions and benefits, accumulators, WCBs, health, EFTs and distributions.

Once a payroll is calculated, you can view and/or print a payroll register. If the register is not quite right, you can simply go back and make the necessary changes until your payroll is correct. You can print cheques and pay stubs, or have the paystubs automatically emailed to your employees. You can also transmit direct deposits (electronic funds transfer) or have CPS transmit them for you.

CPS is a sister company of CanPay Computer Software Ltd., developers of the successful GrandMaster product line. The company prides itself on their top quality service and flexible line of products.
