Reorganization of FAMA Meeting / · Due to ongoing budget restraints, all constituency groups are asked by EMSAC Chair John Scott to reduce meeting times
· Groups are asked to streamline work items, and work more efficiently within a shorter time frame
· This will also give members an opportunity to attend meetings that may now be run concurrently / For the January 2010 meetings in Daytona Beach, all transport/air medical groups will meet under the FAMA umbrella: FAMA, ASTNA, FNPTNA, Pilots. Presidents will create template for meetings to submit to Desi
Individual groups will have a breakout session within the time frame, and will report back at the end of the session

Access of Care Paper / · Chief Mike Patterson reminded the group that the Access to Care Paper is currently available on the EMS website, and is due for vote by the EMSAC in January / Please take the time to read the paper. Any comments need to be submitted to Chief Patterson well before the vote in January / Members / 12/31/09
Strategic Plan / · Air Medical is Goal 8 under the current 2008-2010 Strategic Plan
· Completed summit in August to template the new 2010-2012 Strategic Plan, which will begin in July, 2012
· Air Medical Goal will change numbers, but will still be a major part of the new plan / All Air Medical/Transport groups need to be familiar with this goal, as they are listed as Objective Leads or Resources for each objective / All Groups / Ongoing

· Working under challenge of both allocation and personnel reductions
· Increase in trauma alert, gang violence, and 10% increase in air medical transport
· Telemedicine is being introduced in phases, with UF/Ryder starting and going to Sacred Heart, Tampa General and Orlando Regional / None / Susan McDevitt / Ongoing

Florida Neonatal Pediatric Transport Network Association / · Neonatal changes to 64 J are now with JAFC, and hopefully near to completion
· Last draft of rule is on the EMS website
· Maria Fernandez is currently working on pediatric transport guidelines. Will submit to website
· Through the new Strategic Plan, neo/peds will be looking at basic gaps in neonatal and pediatric transport (phase 1) and training/equipment (phase 2) / None / Louise Bowen / Ongoing

Bureau Chief / · Next meeting will be the week of January 18, 2010 at Fire East in Daytona Beach
· Neonatal rule close to completion
· Over 900 dispatchers have voluntarily certified; are attempting to find sponsor for bill to make this mandatory
· EMSTARS – Florida is the third largest database in the nation, with over 1,210,000 records and 102 agencies participating
· 269 EMS providers, with over 4,000 permanent ground ambulance units
· NASEMSO Report – focus on air medical issues. Directors would like more black and white control over air medical, which is being opposed by FAA / None / Chief Bixler / Ongoing

AAMS / · Senator Snow - Looking at dollars for reimbursement being tied to performance measures and data; includes NTSB recommendations; AAMS expressed concern and is looking at this
