It is extremely important that a financial assessment/fairer charging assessment has also taken place so that the individual is aware whether there is a client contribution to be made towards the cost of their support.
Standard Rate – Personal Assistant (hourly rate) / £9.64 / The maximum you can pay your PA would be £8.00 per hour (surplus of £1.64 to save for holiday cover/employers NI and following years insurance premium).Standard Rate – Agency (hourly rate) / £11.24 / If you choose an Agency Provider that charge higher or lower – please factor this into your budget.
Complex Rate – Personal Assistant (hourly rate) / £11.71 / Maximum you can pay your PA would be £9.60 per hour (surplus of £2.11 to save for holiday cover/employers NI and following years insurance premium).

Provides Income & Expenditure accounts showing all transactions and stating the balance of funds held. Will pay PA’s wages and or Agency Providers

WHAT YOU OR YOUR CHOSEN REPRESENTATIVE NEEDS TO DO
Please contact a range of agencies to see if they can meet your needs. Ask them if they have any availability and can they cover the dates/times that you need them. Each agency charges different rates, so ensure that you have enough money in your Direct Payment to pay for the support from your chosen agency provider.
If your chosen agency provider charges more per hour/half hour than the amount of Direct Payment you have been allocated, then the extra costs have to be met by you.
The agency you choose should then arrange for one their Managers/Senior Carers to make an appointment to see you to discuss your needs and undertake a risk assessment. You will need to arrange a date when you want your care to start and inform the Direct Payments Team on : 01928 704436.
