We operate from a purpose-built building within Henley. The main accommodation is all on ground floor level with a new kitchen recently installed. We have the equipment required in order to care for children and young people effectively. We have a soft play/sensory room and a large garden area, complete with trampoline and other outdoor play equipment.
The Chiltern Centre provides support and play, leisure and short break services to families with disabled children and young people across the Thames Valley and South Oxfordshire area. The Centre serves those with complex learning disabilities with associated behaviours that challenge, medical support needs and physical disabilities.
The Centre is as unique and individual as all the children, teenagers and adults we work with each year. We recognise that everyone is different and our focus is to provide individually tailored support which meets the specific needs of each child, young person and their family. Our highly skilled, experienced and passionate team ensure that with support and encouragement people are able to achieve their goals.
In June 2012 we were awarded The Queens Award for Voluntary Service.

The Chiltern Centre is run by a Charity. Paul Barratt and Keith Manning act as the Responsible persons in regard to Safeguarding children and young adults; a service which we regard of utmost importance. We have a duty to report concerns about children/young people in the setting.
Our Mission is 'To help children and young people with disabilities to live life to the full while providing support to their families in their vital role of caring.'
The Chiltern Centre focuses on meeting the needs of children and young people with disabilities in the heart of the local community. We aim to be flexible and respond to local needs.
The Chiltern Centre is an independent not-for-profit company and registered charity. Our staff are all fully-qualified professionals.
As an independent organisation we are able to extend both the age range and geographic area supported, helping many more families.
We have all the necessary statutory registrations required for the services offered, and are fully compliant with all current guidelines.
We are able to offer families a wide range of support services; from short break care in the form of overnight stays, teatime visits, daytime care, after school clubs, Saturday clubs, play schemes, support at home and youth groups.
Our multidisciplinary team is led by our Director of Services, Marian Lee. It includes a Registered Centre Manager, Residential Social Care Workers, Registered Nurses, Playworkers and a Group Leader.
We have close links withother professionals in the surrounding area. Our service can enhance the facilities available locally to young people with disabilities and compliment the services that are already provided by other agencies, both statutory and voluntary.
