ORDER
The Delhi Medical Council examined a complaint of Shri G.S. Sachdeva r/o 56, Sheetal Apartments, Plot No. 12, Sector-14, Rohini, Delhi – 110085, alleging medical negligence on the part of doctors of Saroj Hospital & Heart Institute, Madhuban Chowk, Rohini, Delhi, in the treatment administered to complainant’s son late Angad Sachdeva (C.R. No. 125344) at Saroj Hospital, resulting in his death on 14.7.2009.
The Delhi Medical Council perused the complaint, joint written statement of Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Dr. Diwakar Jha, written statement of Dr. Jaideep Bansal, Dr. P.K. Bhardwaj, Medical Director, Saroj Hospital & Heart Institute, copy of medical records of Saroj Hospital & Heart Institute and other documents on record.
The Delhi Medical Council observes that the patient Mr. Angad Singh Sachdeva, 21 years old man, was admitted with loose motion and vomittings on 11.7.2009 in SarojHospital. He was given the desired treatment for diahorrea and vomiting and relevant investigation were done on 12.7.2009. He was found in a state of drowsiness and tests like CT scan, EEG were performed. The CT scan report showed a big lesion in cerebellum with compression of the ventricals and ventricular dilatation. He was prescribed treatment required for raised pressure in the brain. MRI is required in such cases to find out the exact nature of the underlying condition and there is no evidence of any lack of medical care.

In light of the observations made hereinabove, it is the decision of the Delhi Medical Councilthat prima-facie no case of medical negligence is made out against the doctors of Saroj Hospital & Heart Institute in the treatment administered to late Angad Sachdeva.
Complaint stands disposed.
