O R D E R
The Delhi Medical Council through its Executive Committee examined a representation from Police Station Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi, seeking medical opinion on a complaint of Shri Rahul Kapoor, r/o. H-2, Lajpat Nagar-I, New Delhi- 110024, alleging medical negligence on the part of Dr. Anupama Sobti, K-99, Lajpat Nagar-II, New Delhi- 110024, in the treatment administered to the complainant’s wife Mrs. Preeti Kapoor (referred hereinafter as the patient).
The Order of the Executive Committee dated 7th February, 2013 is reproduced hereinbelow:-
“The Executive Committee of the Delhi Medical Council examined a representation from Police Station Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi, seeking medical opinion on a complaint of Shri Rahul Kapoor, r/o. H-2, Lajpat Nagar-I, New Delhi, alleging medical negligence on the part of Dr. Anupama Sobti, K-99, Lajpat Nagar-II, New Delhi, in the treatment administered to the complainant’s wife Mrs. Preeti Kapoor (referred hereinafter as the patient).
The Executive Committee perused the representation from Police Station Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi and documents submitted therewith.
The Executive Committee observed that the patient was booked with Dr. Anupama Sobti at gestational age of twenty two weeks. The patient was seen by Dr. Anupama Sobti regularly till thirty four weeks. All the investigations done were within normal range. Lower segment caesarean section was done for fetal distress and the baby is doing fine. There was no evidence of infection as per the records available. Fetal distress cannot be predicted in ante-partum period as long as investigations are normal.

In view of the, it the decision of the Executive Committee that prima facie no case of medical negligence is made out on the part of Dr. Anupama Sobti, in the treatment administered to the complainant’s wife Mrs. Preeti Kapoor.
Matter stands disposed.”
