SPOKES referrals are suggested to be functioning at the 4th grade level (or above) for reading and math and may have diagnosed or undiagnosed learning disabilities that need to be addressed in the classroom and for future employment. Describe your approach for scheduling to ensure flexibility and coordination with Federal, State, and local support services that are necessary to enable individuals, including individuals with disabilities or other special needs, to attend and complete the minimum weekly federal participation requirement for TANF customers. Section 6: IFyou are applying for a region(s) that has a TANF Assessment Specialist, answer these questions:

The purpose of a TANF Assessment Specialist is to conduct assessments on Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) eligible customers to identify barriers to employment. The target population is limited to eligible TANF customers referred by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, Bureau of Children and Families. The results of the assessments assist DHHR staff to determine appropriate referrals for educational, physical, and mental health services.
