A. CHILD PROTECTION POLICY
The GSC SPED Integrated School requests the full support and cooperation of the parents/guardians and visitors to create a safe and wholesome atmosphere in school in order to realize the DepEd mission-vision for the welfare and development of the child.
1. The school shall maintain discipline inside the school campus as well as outside the school
premises when pupils or students are engaged in activities authorized by the school.
2. Only bona fide students of the school shall be allowed inside the school campus.
3. No visitors shall be allowed inside the campus during school hours except for valid reasons.
They shall be required to sign a logbook of the security service.
4. Teachers shall confer with parents/guardians or entertain visitors during their off period.
5. No students or visitors shall be allowed inside the school building and the premises after the
last class period has ended except for valid reasons.
6. For security purposes, all gates will be closed at 8:00 A.M.
7. Parents/guardians must present fetching card to the security guard when fetching the young
children.
B. ANTI-BULLYING POLICIES
The GSC SPED Integrated School is responsible to ensure that participatory and other rights of all pupils, students or learners are respected and upheld in all matters and procedures affecting their welfare.
1. A complaint for bullying or peer abuse shall be acted upon by the school principal
following the procedures here in set forth:
a. School Principal or authorized representative shall inform the parents/guardians of
the victim and the offending child.
b. A meeting will be called for the purpose.
c. The victim of the offending child shall be referred to the Child Protection Committee
for counseling and other interventions.
d. The penalty of reprimand, if warranted, may be imposed by the school principal in the
presence of the parents/guardians.
f. If bullying is committed for a second or subsequent time, after the offending child has
received counseling or other interventions, the school can impose the following:
- A suspension for NOT more than (1) week, by the school principal, if such is warranted.
- During the period of suspension, the offending child and the parent. Guardians may be required to attend further seminar/sessions and counseling.
- The school principal shall likewise ensure that the appropriate interventions, counseling and other services, are provided for the victim or victims of bullying.
g. Bullying that results in serious physical injuries or death;
* the case shall be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of RA 9344 ( Juvenile Justice Welfare Act) and its Implementing Rules and Regulations – following the procedures below:
- the child and the parents/guardians must be informed of the complaint
- in writing
- the child shall be given the opportunity to answer the complaint in writing with the assistance of the parents or guardians
- the decision of the school principal must be in writing, stating the facts and the reasons for the decision
- the decision of the school principal may be appealed as provided in existing rules of the department.
h. Other acts of violence or abuse
- Abuse/violence committed by a pupil/student or learner upon another pupil/student or learner of the same school shall, and whenever appropriate be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of Republic Act 9344 ( Juvenile Justice Welfare Act) and its Implementing Rules and Regulations.
