2.First time users will need to enter Registered users will enter their
their school code:username and password:
3.After login, you will see the main screen. Choose Classic View or New View
4.Writing Prompt Builder
a. Choose Builder Tools from the drop down menu.
b. Choose Writing Prompt Builder
c. You can create your own writing prompts or choose ones already created by Discovery Education.
d. You can also Edit, Assign, or Delete a writing prompt.
5. Creating a New Writing Prompt:
a. Enter the information about your writing prompt (title, grade level, subject, settings)
b. Click the button. You will be prompted to choose the location to save.
c. Build Your Writing Prompt. You can add resources and text. Click the button.
d. Assign Your Writing Prompt. Determine how your students will access your writing prompt.
You can assign by class or student OR assign by code or URL. In STPSB, you cannot use real
student names. When finished, Click the button.
e. Tips:
(1) Discovery Education writing prompts can be sorted by name, date created, subject or grade
(2) You can save a Discovery Education writing prompt into your content
(3) When you creating a writing prompt, hovering the mouse over each section will give you a hint
of what you need to do
(4) You can select multiple grades and more than one subject when creating a writing prompt

9.Other useful information:
a. When you search for a resource, videos can be downloaded in segments and inserted into a PowerPoint presentation or ActivInspire Flipchart.
b. Resources can include a Teacher’s Guide and BlacklineMasters.
c. Details on resources will include a description, standards, citations, etc.
d. Teacher notes in Assignment or Quiz Builder are not visible to students.
e. Tutorials and help can be found by clicking on the Professional Development tab.
