PORTLAND CITY TOUR Get on board the “Discovery” trolley. Enjoy a 90 minute narrated tour that includes Portland’s diverse history and architecture. The childhood home of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, The Victoria Mansion, and the bustling Old Port are just a few of the sites you’ll see as we travel from city streets to rocky coast. Stop for photos at Portland Head light, Maine’s 1st lighthouse. After the tour you will have time to walk down the cobblestone streets in Portland’s Old Port near the waterfront, stroll around and poke your head in the many and varied unique shops and relax in one of the coffeehouses. 3 times to select from.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 2 FREEPORT, MAINE

No need for shopping catalogs in Freeport — you have the real thing. The L.L. Bean retail store is the center of this bustling historic town that features over 170 upscale outlets, world-class factory stores, designer shops, and one-of-a-kind specialty shops. On our return we will stop and see “Eartha” for no trip to Maine is complete without seeing “Eartha”, the world’s largest and most detailed rotating globe.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 3 CRAWFORD NOTCH

Not far from Maine are the White Mountains and North Conway, New Hampshire. The bus will take us to New Hampshire where we will board the train at the 1874 North Conway Station for one of the East’s premier scenic train rides to Crawford Notch. Travel past sheer bluffs, steep ravines, cascading brooks and streams, panoramic mountain vistas, and

across the famed Frankenstein trestle. Lunch is on your own at the top or on the train.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 4 KENNEBUNKPORT

Awaiting you are quaint New England villages, such as Ogunquit Village and Kennebunkport, the summer home of former President George Bush. In Kennebunkport, Dock Square has restored structures that are now boutiques and galleries. Drive along Ocean Avenue which follows the rocky shore and see the fine old mansions. Ogunquit has been called an “artist’s paradise.” Shore Road leads to Bald Head Cliff. Perkins Cove “seems custom designed for a photo opportunity”.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 5 BOOTHBAY HARBOR

Picturesque seaport Boothbay Harbor invites you to walk its engaging winding streets. Travel through piney forests to Ocean Point on the peninsula and see the waves crashing upon the craggy, rocky seashore for which Maine is famous. Lunch is on your own. You can dine at a waterfront restaurant, shop along the winding streets, or take a short cruise.
