Max-Schmeling training hall receives new sports floor

2.800 m² of HARO sports flooring installed in the “green bridge” of Berlin

Rosenheim / Berlin – Max Schmeling is a boxing legend and for more than half a century, HARO Sports Flooring has been one of the leading manufacturers of portable and permanently installed sports floors. Now these two greats have come together in Berlin. In one of the adjacent halls of the famous Max-Schmeling-Halle in “Prenzlauer Berg”, approx. 2800 m² of HARO sports flooring model Berlin 12 finished in oak were installed.

School classes, numerous clubs as well as basketball leagues such as “ALBA Berlin” are just a few of the excited Berlin citizens to exercise and train here. The hall resides in Berlin’s city center, the trendy district “Prenzlauer Berg”, and is incorporated into the “Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark”. The Max-Schmeling-Halle is called the “green bridge” of Berlin because it symbolically unites the two districts Wedding (formerly West Berlin) and Prenzlauer Berg (formerly East Berlin).

HARO sports flooring model Berlin 12 is a so-called sprung floor, also called double swing beam system. It can be installed on raw concrete as well as on uneven subfloors since the uneven spots can be leveled easily. Model Berlin 12 consists of HARO sports parquet with a thickness of 18.3 mm with first-class parquet top layer that is placed atop a plywood core layer and solid spruce wood strips. The 5.6 mm parquet top layer receives a factory finished sealing for ideal surface protection and maximum performance. HARO Sports Berlin 12 fulfills all requirements of the German DIN V 18032-2; April 2001, of EN 14904 and is officially accredited by the Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA). It is quality controlled according to RAL GZ 942, fulfills the requirements of the Austrian ÖISS 2005 and has the National Technical Approval. §

Seit 2002 sind die Hamberger Industriewerke gemäß PEFC zertifiziert. Das Siegel ist ein Nachweis dafür, dass die verarbeiteten Rohstoffe aus zertifiziertem nachhaltig bewirtschaftetem Wald stammen.
