Director Of Examiners AGM Report 2013 ~14
During last year we had to move the Midland Area Dan grade promotions from Walsall Campus to Coventry Judo Club , this was down to the cost and the availability of the Campus stadium.
Many thanks to Coventry Judo for all their help with accommodating us for three events April ~July ~November
Unfortunately the numbers were very low for these grading’s asking especially the July grading due to a clash with point scoring event run at Samurai on the same date.
We have now moved back to Walsall to the new GB Centre of Excellence we have been allowed our dates which are allocated to the Area basically these dates fall at the same time of year so as not to clash with other area hosting Dan grading’s this giving judoka’s the chance to move around the country to try and achieve points by line up ,in other words get 50 points on the day and be recommended by examiners to the bja for promotion.
Dates for 2014 : 9th February ~ 13th April ~ 6th July ~ 16th November
All at GB Centre booking in from 9am
Unfortunately yet again the July grading has the same problem with Samurai event on the same day, the Area Committee has asked Samurai to consider changing their event run at their own club , we cannot change the date with GB Centre, hopefully our date will go ahead.
With the BJA hosting Technical training days around the Midlands there is no need for me to arrange the same events , but if anyone requires a dan grade theory exam I can arrange an examiner for you , please note if you are asking for this you must bring a trained Uki , you will not be examined if you just turn up and hope the examiner can find partner for you.
