Director of Administrative Services

Stephens College is seeking a Director of Administrative Services who reports to the Vice President, Finance and Administration (VPFA). The Director will assist all areas of the administrative functions of the college including Accounting, Facilities, Human Resources, and Auxiliary Services to ensure effective and efficient operations. The Director will be responsible for college-wide budget monitoring and fiscal reporting, coordination of policy and procedure development, documentation of training programs for staff and faculty, and performing other special research functions as assigned by the VPFA.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinates and performs professional and confidential special project functions related to budget and finance, human resources, facilities and auxiliary services including compiling and analyzing financial records and reports.
  1. Participates in business process reviews, cost analyses, process mapping/flow charting to ensure efficient and effective use of college resources.
  1. Monitors Stephens College policies to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations. Proposes policy changes and prepares new policies as needed. Informs the campus community of changes that occur.
  1. Prepares and maintains comprehensive college compliance reporting system.
  1. Works effectively with diverse campus community.
  1. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required; 3 or more years of administrative experience supporting senior level personnel, including fiscal/budget monitoring and policy development.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience in higher education preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of discretion.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to perform research, analyze data and prepare clear and accurate reports.
  • Ability to interpret policy guidelines.
  • Ability to participate in the development, alteration and implementation of a unit's policies and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and collegially with diverse personnel, including faculty, administrators, staff, students and external constituents.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing applications and ability to learn integrated business management/accounting computerized programs (Power Campus and Great Plains).
