Directions for moving students to a different school in NoodleTools:

Log In to NoodleTools using your Account Administration username and password.

Choose User Management.

Do a search by Graduation Year (enter the year that students needing moved will graduate) and click Search.

Scroll to Bottom and Select All.

Click on Edit Folders at bottom.

Change school to student’s new school.

Save changes.

To make sure ALL students get moved that need moved, clear all search fields and do another search. This will give you a list of all accounts associated with your school. Look for any students that do not have a graduation year listed, edit their folder and enter the graduation year. Repeat the directions above to move previously missing students.

Directions for editing student folders in NoodleTools:

Log In to NoodleTools using your Account Administration username and password.

Choose User Management.

Do some type of search to get a list of students that need changed. (Note: you only need to enter the first few letters of a name if searching by ‘starts with’ from the drop-down menu; doing a search without inputting any parameters will list all accounts associated with your school)

Select the account you wish to edit by clicking on it. (To edit multiple student accounts at one time see Directions for editing multiple student folders in NoodleTools below.)

Fields you can edit include Personal ID, Password, Initials, Phone, Student/Teacher Folder type, School, and Graduation year.

Save changes. A message will state that changes have been made or not.

Click on the Back link at bottom of page to return to the User Management page if need to edit other student accounts and repeat steps listed above.

Directions for editing multiple student folders in NoodleTools:

NOTE: You can only edit Folder Type, School, and/or Graduation Year with these directions. If you need to edit other fields please use the Directions for editing student folders in NoodleTools above.

Check the boxes in front of all the account folders you want to edit. Click on the Edit Folders button at the bottom.

Edit the Student/Teacher Folder type, School, and Graduation year field as needed. (NOTE: whatever field(s) you choose to change will change the field(s) in all folders selected.)

Save changes. A message will state that changes have been made or not.

Click on the Back link at bottom of page to return to the User Management page if need to edit other student accounts and repeat steps listed above.

Directions for creating multiple student folders at one time in NoodleTools:

Log In to NoodleTools using your Account Administration username and password.

Choose User Management.

Under the Import personal folders (batch) title near the top choose the link Click here to create folders for your class. (NOTE: You can view previously created imports from the drop down menu and edit folders from here if needed.)

Follow the directions to enter the Personal IDs and Passwords for accounts creating. Be sure to give this batch import a name and choose the correct Folder Type and Graduation Year. You must also include a default password – “password” always works well (this is only inserted as a password for any folder created that you do not include an individual password for).

Click on the Import Folders button at the bottom. A message will state that the import has been successful.

Click on the Back link at bottom of page to return to the User Management page if need to batch import other student accounts and repeat steps listed above.

NOTE: When students log on to their NoodleTools account for the first time, they may be directed to enter their initials and last four digits of phone number to update their accounts.

Directions for exporting account information from NoodleTools to MS Excel:

Log In to NoodleTools using your Account Administration username and password.

Choose User Management.

Do some type of search to get a list of desired accounts. (Note: doing a search without inputting any parameters will list all accounts associated with your school)

Select the hyperlink ‘Download user search results as MS Excel file (.xls)’ located above search results.

You can now sort your results to locate any anomalies that need to be corrected or save for your records.

Directions for moving student projects from a NoodleBib Starter account to a CV account:

Create a CV student account folder if not already done. (NOTE: If you cannot create a CV account because the student has used the same Personal ID and Password for CV accounts, log on to the student’s NoodleBib Starter account using their ID and Password and update their profile, changing their ID by adding a 1 immediately after. Then log out and create a CV account.)

Log on to the student’s NoodleBib Starter account using whatever Personal ID and Password they used to create it.

Check the boxes in front of all the student’s projects.

Click on the Copy box at the bottom of the list.

Choose “another user’s folder” and type in the student’s CV account Personal ID. Click on the copy button at the bottom. (NOTE: If there is no valid ID [i.e. you spelled it wrong] you will get a message indicating so and if there is more than one account with the same ID [i.e. associated with different school district accounts] you will be given a choice of which student account you want to copy to [choose CV].)

OPTIONAL: If you really do not want students using the NoodleBib Starter account, delete their projects and then update their profile, changing their ID by adding a 1 immediately after if not already done so in step 1 above.

Directions for combining multiple student projects into one project:

NOTE: Use this for student’s who created more than one project for citations rather than adding citations to the original existing project.

Log on to the student account.

Check boxes in front of projects that you want to combine.

Click on the Merge button at the bottom. You will need to give this project a name (different from any used already).

Delete individual projects if desired.
