August 8-12, 2016SchoolOrientation for teachers scheduled for South Carolina Teaching

Standards (SCTS).

By August 14, 2016SCTSSubmit agenda and sign-in sheets for orientation session to the

Office of Personnel.

August 17, 2016SCTS1. Integral and walk-through observations may begin and

continue throughout the school year (minimum of two-

45 minute integral observations [at least one per evaluator]

during each evaluation period. Four total integral observations per year).(Annual Formal)

2. Teacher reflections due within 24 hours. (Computer Based Template)

By September 12, 2016SCTSInitial Conference – Administrator meets with the teacher to

(20th teaching day)develop the Professional Growth and Development (PGD) plan.

By November 11, 2016SCTSRequiredintegral observations completed by each evaluator.

By November 22, 2016SCTSEvaluators complete preliminary ratings using SC Teaching

Standards Rubric(FORM - Teacher Observation Report Template)and plan Preliminary Conferences (FORM -Reinforcement and Refinement Plan Template).

Prior toNovember 22, 2016SCTSEvaluator(s) conduct Preliminary RatingConferences with

teachers.

December 2,2016SCTS1. Preliminary forms due to the Office of Personnel.

1. Begin final evaluation period of integral and walk-through observations.

By January 2, 2017SCTSFinal Evaluation Cycle –Observationsbegin

By February 17, 2017SCTS1. Evaluators complete required observations.

2. Evaluators independently complete final datacollection by

reviewing the dossier.

3. Deadline for teacher’s written request of an additional

observation.

By February 20, 2017SCTSEvaluators meet to complete final ratings for instruction,

environment, design/planning, and professionalism.

Prior to February 22, 2017SCTSFINAL Review/Conference – Administrator meets with the

teacher to discuss progress toward meeting the goal(s) and

to review the evidence.

February 28-March 2, 2017SCTSReview teacher ratings with District Staff and determine

contract level and ADEPT process for teachers.

March 15, 2017SCTSADEPT Notification Worksheet due to the Office of Personnel.

March 27, 2017SCTSBoard of Trustees approves contract recommendations.

By April 14, 2017SCTS1. Deadline to notify Annual and Continuing Contract teachers in

writing of Formal Evaluation (SCTS) for the next school year.

2. Submit GBE forms to the Office of Personnel.

By May 15, 2017SCTSPrincipals recommend new evaluators/mentors for training and

submit names to the Office of Personnel.
