- This week we began our series on how to Thrive in a world that seems to be going crazy. Was there anything that stood out to you this past weekend?

Daniel was in the worst imaginable place - kidnapped, castrated, forced to study the occult, and serve an evil king - YET - in his 70 yrs. Brought 3 amazing revivals to a dark world and rose in authority. He was able to more than just survive - but THRIVE!

We need to realize we might here for a while – so make the best of it.
- What does God say we are to do? (Jer. 29:4-7)
- How is it possible for a Christian to live and thrive in a culture that is not God honoring?
Weare to know and understand God’s will for our life as found in the Bible
- Who or what decides how we look at the world and culture? (The Bible)

We are to live in the world and love the world while we are in the world
- Does that mean we are to be like world? (Just the opposite – We are to be different and live honorable lives, but we always show love and compassion)
- What are we to do when we are not loved back? Keep loving like Jesus loves us
- When we take a position that is different than society do people come off as judgmental? What are some examples?
- Are Christians supposed to judge people? Why yes or no?
I want to spend the rest of the time understanding what Biblical judging is.
What does Jesus say about judging?
1. Jesus says you will be judged the way you judge others
Matthew 7:1-2
- What do you think Jesus is saying here?
- Jesus is warning against hypocritical judging, what does that mean?
2. Jesus says judge yourself first
Matthew 7:3-5
3. Jesus says we are able to judge people by their fruit
Matthew 7:15-20
- What stands out to you about this passage?
Jesus says we are to judge according to a person’s actions & teaching.
- Did you notice that this geared toward those who call themselves follower of God?
4. Jesus says we are to confront a person in sin who claims to be a Christian

What does Paul say about judging? 1 Corinthians 5:9-13, 2 Timothy 4:2
- When it comes to judging the world what are we to do? – Not judge
- When it comes to judging Christians what we are to do? – Judge
2 Corinthians 13:5-6
- What does this verse ask us to do?Test our selves
- What does it mean to test our self?
- Where does judgment begin? Judgment begins with our self.
Sunday Pastor ted mentioned 2 judgement extremes:
- When we accept the sin, and celebrate them
- When we condemn the person and never interact with them
- What do you think they mean?
- Is it possible to judge others sinfully? Being judgmental – and abusive? How?
John 13:34-35
- According to that verse what are we to be known by?
- How can we live out both?
Remember that we are to be known by our love and not our judging.
