Diana: Ah, Miss Susan Hayne, isn’t it? How do you do? Please sit down.

Susan: How do you do? Thank you.

Diana: Now tell me, what do you do?

Susan: I’m a housemaid in a hotel in Croydon. But I’ve taken sales assistant courses.

Diana: You’d like to change your job, would you?

Susan: That’s true.

Diana: You can use a computer – and you can type?

Susan: Yes, I can.

Diana: What about foreign languages?

Susan: Um, I can speak Spanish a little.

Diana: Spanish – can you speak French?

Susan: Not really – no.

Diana: Not to worry – oh, can you drive?

Susan: Yes, I’ve got a car of my own. I bought it two years ago. It’s fast and reliable.

Diana: Good……. And what are your interests?

Susan: Well, I like cooking and sport…. and music and films.

Diana: Cooking… sport…music….films…what about reading?

Susan: Only sometimes. I’m too busy.

Diana: Are you ready to move to London?

Susan: Certainly. I dream about it all my entire life.

Diana: Your surname Norton.

Michael: Yes, my first name is Michael.

Diana: And you’re a sales assistant, I see.

Michael: Yes, that’s right. I work at the greengrocer’s. I sell cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes…

Diana: And onions, red beet, melons, water melons. OK.

Michael: I like travelling, that’s whyI’m looking for a new job. I heard your job is connected with travelling.

Diana: Well, can you use a computer?

Michael: Not so well, but I can type. I can speak French. And I can drive. I adore travelling.

Diana: Oh, that’s good. And what about your interests, apart from travelling.

Michael: I like swimming – and tennis and football.

Diana: Miss Jean Wallace?

Jean: Yes.

Diana: Well now, I see that you can type and use a computer. What do you do?

Jean: I’m a sales assistant by profession.

Diana: Can you drive?

Jean: Yes, I can.

Diana: Good – and can you speak any languages?

Diana: Yes, German, Russian, Italian and French.

Diana: Excellent – you’ve written that you like cinema and theatre.

Jean: Yes, and I like traveling and meeting new people. I’m fond of associating with people.

Diana: What about reading?

Jean: Oh, it’s my favourite pastime. I’m a great lover of books.
