2016 HAMILTON AWARD

Juniors who are college-bound are eligible to apply for this financial need award. This award includes a $500 Cash Scholarship with leadership training in Seattle in 2017 and Dallas in 2018. Award winners will also participate in a group service trip in an underserved community in 2018. College application assistance and scholarship and financial aid search assistance are also part of the Hamilton Award. Applicants must be self-starters and have a strong record of community service. Elks Legacy Awards

These 4,000 scholarships are for seniors who are children and grandchildren of Elks members. Applications are available ONLINE ONLY at www.elks.org/enf/scholars/ If you are selected as a 2016 Legacy Awards recipient, you will be required to perform service once a year with an Elks Lodge during the four years you are receiving the scholarship. Deadline to apply is 12:00 p.m. (noon) Central Time on Friday, January 29, 3016. Applicants may only receive one ENF award. 2016 Profile in Courage Essay Contest

This scholarship is for seniors who write an original and creative essay of a U.S. elected official who served during or after 1956. The essay demonstrates an understanding of political courage as described by John F. Kennedy in Profiles in Courage. Applicants must use at least five varied reliable sources and must be between 700 and 1,000 words. First place award is $10,000 - second place is $1,000 and there will be up to five finalists for $500. ND Jaycee Senate Scholarship Committee-6th Annual Lisa Burdolski Memorial

The Lisa Burdolski Memorial Scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Lisa Burdolski, a child of a Jaycee family who passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Senior applicants will compete for four scholarships of $300 each. Two primary award winners and two alternate winners will be selected. The two primary state award winners are then eligible to compete nationally for $1,000 scholarships from the US JCI Senate Foundation competition in February 2016. ROUGHRIDER/BASIN $1,000 Scholarship

Seniors who are enrolled in a full-time two-year or four-year college, are eligible to apply. Pick up an application from any counselor and complete the application. Applicants must complete an essay on one of the four values of innovation, accountability, integrity and commitment to community and describe how you see this value in action at your local cooperative. Deadline to apply is February 10, 2016.

WACE National CO-OP Scholarship

This is a scholarship for seniors who have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 or better and must be planning to apply for the 2016-2017 academic year at one of the WACE Partner Institutions. Most scholarships are renewable and range from $6,000 - $6,500 each year. Deadline to apply is February 15, 2016 with some university exceptions. ND CROP IMPROVEMENT & SEED ASSOCIATION

Applicants must be residents of ND and/or guardian must be a member of their respective county Crop (Ag) Improvement Association. They must also be a full-time student. Seniors who plan to pursue an agricultural career or whose family is actively farming or ranching are eligible to apply for one of ten $1,000 scholarships. NDSU CULTURAL DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP

This award covers the full North Dakota rate of Base Tuition at NDSU for 5 years. This award is to provide opportunities to students defined as traditionally underrepresented according to ethnicity and cultural background as defined by the US government with special attention given to financial need, first-generation college students and single parents. Applicants must apply for admission at NDSU and also complete a separate application for the CDTD. Students must complete the FAFSA error free to NDSU by March 1, 2016 and submit the CDTD application by April 1st, 2016 to be considered for the award. Western Cooperative Credit Union

Seniors who are members of any North Dakota credit union are eligible to apply for one of five $500 scholarships for applicants that exemplify the credit union philosophy of "people helping people" through volunteering, community service and leadership. JULIE BUXA HEALTH SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP ($250)

Seniors who have taken a Health Science (Careers) Class are eligible to apply. Awarding of the scholarship will be based on interest in a health science career, college aspirations, school activities, leadership activities, community participation and ability to overcome obstacles, financial need, grades and letter of application. Real Deal Scholarship-Bank of ND

Seniors may apply at http://eforms.nd.gov/lfserver/SFN60201 This is a short essay application. Each month the Bank of ND draws eight names statewide and those students receive a $500 after the committee checks and verifies the application that was submitted. At the end of the drawings those students who have been awarded a $500 scholarship will also have the opportunity to apply for a $3,000 scholarship. Deadline to apply is March 31, 2016

ND Notice of Apprenticeship-ND Construction Craft Laborers'

Apprentices need to be 18 years old and physically able to perform the work. Apprentices upon beginning work must become a member of and maintain membership in good standing in the Laborers International Union pursuant to the governing Collective Bargaining Agreement. This program helps students reliably earn in-state tuition at universities all over the country. In-State-Angels have saved students over 4.25 million dollars in tuition since 2011. This community action program is a special savings program for limited income families and individuals. Applicants must be employed, have a present and past employment history and meet the income guidelines. This savings results in a dollar saved is two dollars earned. Seniors with high academic achievement who live in households with income of less than $60,000 and limited assets are eligible to apply. Specific eligibility for students includes that they must be in the top 5 - 10% of their class, have a score above a 27 on their ACT, must be in the 1st generation in their family going to college and are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch. University/College Freshman Scholarships

Seniors - During the application process to the college/university that you want to attend, make sure that you do the online or paper applications for the freshman scholarships. Oftentimes, you can get large scholarships that are renewable to the school you are attending.

Alert Magazine

Seniors with a GPA of 2.5 who are planning to attend college are eligible to apply. There is no application or deadline with this $500 scholarship. Write a 650-800 word essay about a personal encounter you or someone you know has had with drug and/or alcohol abuse. Discuss how it was dealt with, what was learned and what was right or wrong with the way the incident or problem was handled. Generation Ali Global Citizenship Scholarship

The Generation Ali Global Citizenship Scholarship Program, sponsored by The Muhammad Ali Center, is offering scholarships inspired by Muhammad Ali’s six core principles: Confidence, Conviction, Dedication, Giving, Respect, and Spirituality. This scholarship program encourages the pursuit of greatness through education.

The program is open to high school seniors or graduates or post-secondary students. Students outside the United States must be in their final year of upper or higher secondary school or be a current undergraduate student attending school in the United States. Students must plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school in the United States for the entire 2014-2015 academic year.

SHEET METAL WORKER APPRENTICESHIP

BOILERMAKERS APPRENTICESHIP

The Great Lakes Area Boilermakers Apprenticeship Program applications are being accepted in a number of locations. The third Tuesday of every month from 9:00AM to 11:00AM applications are being accepted at Local #647, 3400 42nd Street, NW, Mandan, ND 58554. Contact any counselor for other dates and locations in Fargo, South Dakota and Minnesota. Applicants who have a welding certification or welding training qualifications will have priority selection over applicants with no welding qualifications. Applicants must provide a copy and proof of welding certification or welding training qualification at the time of application.

NDSCS-Educating the Electrical Industry

This year our department has about $50,000 in scholarships for those interested in pursuing a career in the electrical industry. In addition, they have $10,000 in available scholarships thru STEMS. Career Power-Up with IEC

This is a four year electrical apprenticeship recognized by U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship Program and Training. You can become a journeyman electrician and earn college credits. IEC-Dakotas offers classroom and online training. This training will open the door for multiple possibilities for you in the electrical field. Stop in with any counselor for a sign-up card.

United Technologies Aerosplace Systems Tuition Sharing/Reimbursement Program

This program is open to 1st or 2nd year students that attend a 2-year accredited Machinist Training program. Students must apply for consideration to be enrolled in the UTC program. Upon completion of the program, students need to work for UTC for a minimum of three years. For more information and to pick up an application stop in with any counselor. Reimbursement for this program is $5,000 per year (max of two). Sign-on bonus and one year successful employment bonus is also $5,000 each.
