Post title:Project Officer – Building Better Opportunities (BBO)

Part-time fixed term contract.

Salary: NJC scale point 27 - £24,174 per annum pro rata

The employer will provide an allowance for personal pension.

Holidays:25 days + Bank holidays pro rata. Plus 3 additional leave days to be taken between Christmas and the New Year.

Hours of work:A minimum of15 hours per week flexible to the needs of the contract,

Evenings and weekends may be required.

Office base:The Len Medlock Voluntary Centre, Boston.

Responsible to:The Senior Operations Officer and to Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service via the Chief Executive.

Purpose of Job

  • To deliver the BBO ‘Considering Employment Options’ project specific outcomes in accordance with contract specification and partnership agreements.
  • To support economically inactive and unemployed people on the road to employment by tackling barriers which prevent them from working.
  • To make sure that appropriate evidence files and audit trail are set up, maintained and stored in accordance with European Commission and Big Lottery Fund requirements.
  • To make sure that specific guidelines relating to publicity set out by the European Commission are followed in the delivery of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify eligible participants for the programme and complete a holistic assessment of their individual needs and a personal plan of tailored support.
  • Help economically inactive people who are most at risk of social exclusion make a successful and sustainable transition towards employment through personalised one-to-one support and ‘hand holding’.
  • Provide support to tackle barriers faced by people with multiple disadvantages and ‘break the cycle’ of worklessness and dependency on benefits through confidence building, training and learning activities, signposting, volunteering and improved health and wellbeing.
  • Create and deliver project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Support participants on their journey and track their progress.
  • Input all relevant personal and activity related information into the project Management Information System.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project.
  • Work closely with relevant partners and stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the project.
  • To carry out agreed monitoring and evaluation systems in line with the requirements of the lead organisation and the European Commission and Big Lottery Fund.
  • Submit project reports to stakeholders.
  • Anticipate and react to change as and when necessary.

General duties and responsibilities:

  • To work in co-operation with other team members, adhering to all policies and procedures, including Equal Opportunities.
  • To prepare activity reports and statistics as requested
  • To work flexibly as part of the team including cover for other staff as required.
  • To help identify and agree a training and personal development programme
  • To assist Lincolnshire CVS to be able to deliver services in line with the quality standards including IIP and NAVCA.
  • To supervise staff and volunteers as required
  • To support LCVS members
  • To participate in regular supervision and appraisal meetings with the Line Manager
  • To participate in any internal/external meetings as required
