DEVELOPER PLUNGES INTO HOT TUBS
Hot tubs are no longer just found in suburban gardens. Following market demand for truly distinctive luxury properties, innovative urban developers are increasingly installing hot tubs into luxury apartments.
One of the pioneering developments is called the Senses, BatterseaPark, which has provided eight penthouses with private hot tubs on screened leisure decks, overlooking the 200 leafy acres of the adjacent park.
Senses has tapped into the latest trend for private home luxury. According to the British and Irish Spa and Hot Tub Association (BISHTA), sales of hot tubs during 2004 doubling over the previous year. Millions of bubbles are released and the pressure and angles of the jets can be adjusted through the easy to use control system.
Mood lighting – a key feature of Senses and something repeated inside the living spaces – is provided by the Tango 42 Turbo hot tubs in the form of underwater lights, with a change of colours and intensity able to adjust the mood to suit the occasion. The hot tubs are located on private timber floored leisure decks, which have areas of special frosted glass screens to ensure that they are not overlooked. The leisure decks provide space for sun lounges, chairs and tables providing the ideal venue for entertaining and relaxing during warmer weather.
