Using Examview Pro to Create Student Assessments
Target Audience / Secondary level teachers with computer skills but little or no experience using Examview Pro software

Instructional Goal / Secondary level teachers in the Utica Community Schools district will create student assessments using the Examview Pro software to be used to meet the district’s goal of “Data-driven Decision Making”
Performance Objectives /
- Given a computer with access to the district’s intranet, learners will access and start the Examview Pro software within 3 attempts
- Given a computer with access to Examview Pro, learners will locate and select the desired “Questions Banks” on the district’s intranet from those provided within 10 minutes
- Given a computer with access to Examview Pro and the “Question Banks,” learners will use the “while viewing” option to select 5 questions from the “Question Bank
- Given a computer with access to Examview Pro and the “Question Banks,” learners will use the “by criteria” option to select 5 questions from the “Question Bank”
- Given a computer, Examview Pro, and 10 questions, learners will use the “change type” menu to change all 10 questions to short answer
- Given a computer, Examview Pro, and 10 questions, learners will use the “calculate new values” shortcut button to change the values of all 10 short answer questions
- Given a computer and Examview Pro, learners will use the “add new question” menu to create at least one original question
- Given a computer, Examview Pro, and selected questions, learners will use the “scramble” menu to randomize the order of all questions
- Given a computer, Examview Pro, and their user folder on the district’s intranet, learners will accurately save their assessment
- Given a computer, Examview Pro, a printer, and network access, learners will print 2 different versions of their created assessment

Learner Prerequisites / Familiarity with Windows XP or Mac OSX (depending on what is used in their building) operating systems, ability to log onto the district’s intranet with teacher privileges
Instructor Prerequisites / Familiarity with both Windows XP and Mac OSX operating systems, familiarity with both Windows XP and Mac OSX versions of Examview Pro software, ability to log onto the district’s intranet with teacher privileges, ability to use multiple LCD projectors
