TITLE: CRISIS WORKER TEAM LEADER

ACCOUNTABLE TO: HEAD OF ADVOCACY AND SUPPORT

NOTICE PERIOD: 1 MONTH

SALARY SCALE: £22,016 25days plus bank holidays leave per annum

This post is subject to a Genuine Occupational Qualification, under the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 and, as such, the post holder must be a woman

The post holder must have full UK driving license and access to a vehicle

SUMMARY OF ROLE

·  The post holder will lead the team of Crisis Workers to provide 24 hours on call services to victims of rape and sexual assault within the context of a non-judgemental and confidential service.

·  The post holder will provide emotional support and advocate for the clients attending for a forensic medical examination if required 8am till 5pm Fridays.

·  The post holder will provide Advice line cover whilst in the office.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·  To manage a team of crisis workers to provide 24 hour support to individuals who have recently experienced rape and or sexual assault and who may or may not wish to make a report to the police.

·  To provide line management to out of hours Crisis Workers and arrange Team Meetings and training of staff.

·  To provide Advice line cover when in the office.

·  To develop the Crisis Worker Role in line with the National Occupational Standards

·  To promote and develop the services of the SARC and SV2.

·  To support and provide information to clients accessing the SARC for a Crisis Incident (including a forensic medical examination) .

·  To forensically clean examination suite.

·  The Crisis Worker Team leader will be independent from the Police, Forensic Medical Examiners and Crown Prosecution Service. However, the Crisis Workers will liaise with police and forensic physicians on behalf of the client with the client’s consent.

·  To participate in regular Line Management once a month with the Head of Advocacy and Support.

·  To participate in monthly in house Supervision at SV2.

·  To work as part of a small team in the delivery of a high standard service.

·  To attend Induction and ongoing training. To include training on forensic cleaning of the examination suite.

·  To adhere to BACP and SV2 Codes of Ethics.

·  To consider Safe guarding issues and liaise with the Staff in accordance with Safe guarding policies.

·  To complete and maintain notes on computer based Database
