I hope everyone included in their New Year resolutions to help the council become more active in its support of others through our charitable works.. As Knights, I would like to see our council grow with active members. Thank you to all who helped with the fundraiser by either giving of your time or donations. I would like to also thank everyone for your help with the highway / new church area clean-up and the coat drive. We delivered 86 coats to those in need. Congratulations to the new Knights who received their 1st degree (Eric Solis, Rudy Rivera, and David Yelle)at our February meeting and to the new knights that transferred into our council (Deacon Hector Salva and Edgar Lopez. There are major degrees (2nd & 3rd) coming up this month on the 7th at Mineral Wells and on the 21st at St Andrews here in FW. Please remember that dues are now past due. If you’ve overlooked this or forgot (old age syndrome) please sent it to the Financial Secretary , Brian Perry, 133 Alta Mesa Dr. FTW 76108, and don’t forget to include your volunteer hours. Lent is almost here and the Knights will be serving soup after Stations of the Cross on Friday Feb. 20th. We need someone to head it up and we need help to cook and serve it. I will be sending a notice to all members to update our council records with your contact information as our current list is out dated / incomplete. Continue to serve God through your daily actions and please remember those who are most need in your prayers.

JOHN AND JUDY DUGAN

John has been a knight for 30 years. He was born and raised in New Hampshire. He has a degree in cost accounting and moved to Houston in 1974. His career has taken him from CA,OH PA, MA, and LA. He is our deputy grand knight. He has been inside and outside guard ,warden and was committee chair for the Boy Scouts for 5 years. He met Judy in a pub in new Hampshire located next to a hospital. She was a nurse. In fact John’s mother was a nurse and his two daughters-in law are nurses. The man has been under a nurses care all his life. They have been married 34 years and have two sons. And 5 ½ grandchildren. He left cost engineering in 1995 and became a nursing home administrator. He also has his own realty company. They moved to the DFW area in 2009 and have been at St. Thomas for a year and a half. John enjoys golf and Judy likes to design houses.

BRUCE MALLORY

Bruce has done many good things in the Knights. He has been Chancellor, Deputy Grand Knight, Grand Knight and is in his fourth (and last) year as district deputy. State may try to talk him into another position in the Knights. Bruce was born and raised in Topeka Kansas where he became a Knight 12 years ago. He got a degree in finance and accounting and worked for BNSF who transferred him to Ft Worth in 2004 when he also joined St Thomas. He is an acolyte, on the hospitality committee, head of the pastoral council and on the building committee. He is also the coordinator for the “keeping Children safe” program. He is head of the NW YMCA board of managers. He plays golf and enjoys travelling if he ever gets any spare time.

Eric Solis

This is a new feature to introduce new Knights

Eric has been a Knight for two weeks. He was born in Ft Worth but moved to Mexico as a child and returned when he was 16. He is married with two boys and a girl. He’s been at St Thomas for a year. He is an usher and helps with CCD parking. He’s a body builder. He sells fencing and ranch supplies. Welcome Eric.

Our Council #10930 is pleased to offer to all its brothers; the opportunity to be part of our Council #10930 “TENTH ANNUAL EDUCATION TUITION SCHOLARSHIPPROGRAM”. This College and Trade School Scholarship program will pay $500.00 directly to each winning student’s school for, THE FALL 2015 SEMESTER’S TUITION, FEES AND BOOKS. LIVING EXPENSES AND STUDENT LOANS ARE NOT ELIGIBLEfor Scholarship payments.

The first scholarship requirement is:

The KC Council #10930 brother must have paid his ANNUAL 2015 DUES by April 20, 2015.

Thesecond scholarship requirement is Each applicant must be registered to attend the fall 2015 semester at a USA college, University, City or Junior College or Trade School BEFORE MAY 01,2015. This Scholarship program is for undergraduate studies only and does not include studies for Masters or Doctorate degrees.

If both of the requirements are reached the Knight of Columbus Council #10930 Brother, his wife, children, grandchildren, stepchildren and grand stepchildren are eligible to complete a scholarship application.
