6.BRIEF RESUME OF THE INTENDED WORK:
INTRODUCTION
“Failure to achieve conception by a couple of mature age having normal coitus, during appropriate period of menstrual cycle regularly at least for one year is termed as Infertility”. It develops due to faults in either partner or both.
Female infertility is usually more or less a combination of Nature & Nurture i.e. in an advanced time females are affected & attracted towards luxurious & prevalent hectic life style. Stress, anxiety, anorexia, unhealthy schedule of diet & habits, non- observance of Rajaswala- charya etc, are capable for hormonal imbalance leading the women in a state of infertility.
6.1 NEED FOR THE STUDY
As conception depends on multiple factors i.e. healthy reproductive organs. Ovarianfactor is one among them(1). But nowadays there is noticeable decline in ability to achieve conception beyond the age of 35 years, due to drastic changes in Quantity & Quality of Ovum, leading tomenstrual abnormality & Infertility.
According to Ayurveda –Acharyas mentioned “Beeja” among Garbha sambava samagri, & any abnormality of this may lead to failure to get progeny.
In the present era the periodical investigations & treatments of infertility by allied systems may be troublesome because of its high cost & adverse effects(unbalancing the hormones).
As the formulations explained in our system are easily available, much potent, low cost & without such adverse effect.
Among them Acharya Kashyapa has been explained about the various uses of Lasuna in the form of “LASUNA–GHRITA,” in the treatment of infertility. Hence the Present drug is selected for the study on basis of its multiple actions.
6.2 REVIEW OF LITERATURE
1. All our Acharyas explained about the importance of Arthava (Beeja) in the formation of Garbha, Any deformities to Arthava (arthavadusti) if not treated or treated improperly may lead to Abeejatwa (2,3).
2. The women who is habitual to vatakara ahara vihara, then vrudda vata can spoil the Beeja & Beejabhaga(4) & any injury or obstruction of the Arthava Vaha Srotas leads to Vandhyatwa(5).
3. Atyusna ahara & teeksna virechana in mrudu kosta women can vitiates Arthava, Beeja , Pushpopaghata & Beejopaghata respectively (7a.b).
4. In Puspagni jataharini though the women is menstruating regularly but unable to conceive due to fruitless menses. (7c).
5. Lasuna is indicated in all the Arthava dusti Chikitsa, and the women who consumes lasuna regularly, she will never been Infertile or ugly look. It is as true as stone-line ((7d, e, f).
