Efficiency Plan Proposals

2/5/2016

1) Course Sequence Stable

2) Strategic Advisement consistently used to anticipate future enrollment and support course schedule submitted to insure sufficient enrollment and decrease the probability of requests for small course approvals

3) Cohort Model adopted

4) Admit students out of sequence with schedules that include program-required courses that do not have pre-requisites

5) Improve communication among faculty to insure consistent and accurate advisement across all students—enrollment structure would be written and maintained in all course syllabus, as adopted by Special Education

6)Maintain consistent communication with the PCOE advisement center w/detailed written course sequence so that they might advise accordingly and provide program faculty with updates of anticipated enrollment

7) Increase our number of affiliation agreements/Partnerships with other institutions (e.g., community colleges, HBCUs, HNCUs, institutions that do not have out programs) e.g., Prairie View/Texas Southern.

8) Locally Raise our minimum enrollment numbers from 5 to 7 and from 10 to 12

9) Establish long-standing Affiliations agreements with high schools/high school counselors

10) Engage in cross program recruitment activity by visibility in large section undergraduate courses (i.e., EPS 380, SPE 329)

11) Engage in connecting with university office for recruitment

12) Cross-communication among programs, departments, Human Sciences and survey courses

13) Change RHB 381 to 281 and apply for CORE curriculum status

14) Request Teacher Placement – Listserve, and/or involvement at Banquet, Orientation for recruitment activity

15) Cross-program course – offering—customized courses that serve more than one program to decrease the number of courses with the same general focus, which currently accommodate only one program

16) Developing new programs – cross affiliation ex. MA in Counseling + 18 hours Educational Leadership; Undergraduate degree in Human Services, which will assist in filling courses already on the schedule.

17) Developing cognates across programs

18) Doctoral Program proposals

a)Special Education with emphases

b)Varied Course Schedules (i.e., all day Saturday and Friday evening programs during the academic year and during the summer)

19) Curricular Structure

a)On-line during Fall and Spring

b)Saturdays and Fridays Summer

c)Practicum?
