Skateboard, Bicycle and Roller Skate/Blade Regulations

Statement:

Slippery Rock University recognizes the use of bicycles, skateboards, roller skates and roller blades for the purposes of conveyance across campus. However, uses of these items for any other purpose presents a risk of personal injury and damage to University property.

Regulations:

1. Bicycles, skateboards, roller skates and roller blades are permitted on campus when used for the purpose of conveyance across campus grounds.

2. The use of bicycles, skateboards, roller skates and roller blades on steps, stair rails or any other non-flat surface, or in the performance of “trick” maneuvers is prohibited.

3. Individuals who observe non-conveyance use of bicycles, skateboards, roller skates and roller blades should report the occurrence to the SRU Police Department at 724-738-3333.

4. Violations

(a) SRU students found in violation of these regulations are subject to disciplinary action through the Office of Student Conduct or can be subject to criminal charges a as deemed appropriate by the SRU Police Department and may result in prosecution under the PA Vehicles Code Section 6109.

(b) SRU employees found in violation of these regulations are subject to disciplinary action by the appropriate University Official or can be subject to criminal charges a as deemed appropriate by the SRU Police Department and may result in prosecution under the PA Vehicles Code Section 6109.

(c) Non-SRU affiliates and members of the general public found in violation of these regulations are subject to criminal charges a as deemed appropriate by the SRU Police Department and may result in prosecution under the PA Vehicles Code Section 6109.
