Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

Forming an essential part of the team the Technical Manager will require sound knowledge of the mortgage market, and the Self and Custom Build Sector. They will need to keep fully up to date with Lender Criteria in both our Sector and the wider mortgage market. They will be required to keep up-to-date with best practice, new initiatives and business opportunities in all areas relating to this role
1.  Keep up to date on Lender Criteria and maintain Lender Manuals to assist the team and our processes.
2.  In conjunction with the Operations Manager carry out weekly Lender Test to evaluate the Technical Knowledge of the BuildLoan team and provide feedback where necessary.
3.  To support the Operations Director in Product development, in terms of product ideas and creating Product Specification reports.
4.  Assist the team with technical queries and lender appeals
5.  Maintain Lender Stats and create Lender reports for the Operations Director on a weekly/monthly basis, including the collation of Lenders Arrears stats, pipeline reports and product recommendations
6.  Research, collate information and prepare Custom Build Site Briefs
7.  Project manage the successful launch of new Lenders to the BuildLoan Panel
8.  Create Lender Panels for multiple sites
9.  Prepare weekly concentration reports on multiple sites
10.  Ensure new / amended products are rolled out correctly and to all necessary parties
11.  Maintain all products on Sourcing Systems
12.  Prepare and deliver specific technical training for the BuildLoan teams and for Preferred Partners, or introducers such as BuildStore Mortgage Services
13.  Undertake improvement based project work associated with the processing team and Broker Desk Consultants as and when required
14.  Be proactive with own self development
15.  Analysis of why Lenders are being recommended

Experience and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience (senior level) of mortgage Broking/Brokerage and be knowledgeable in respect of Packaging and/or Underwriting requirements. CeMap qualified is highly preferable, if not a commitment to achieve CeMap status by sitting the required exams. Detailed knowledge of the mortgage market is required and knowledge and experience of the Self Build/Custom Build Sector is also highly preferable. Experience in handling multiple projects/tasks with tight deadlines.

The Technical Manager must be personable, and have excellent knowledge and expertise in their industry. They must be skilled and professional, as well as have an eye for detail and have excellent written and oral skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. High degree of planning and organisational skills
