The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) organization at Prudential is responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing risk globally by ensuring that the company has a comprehensive framework for understanding the risks embedded in and across its businesses and corporate functions. We apply our knowledge of market, insurance, investments, and operational risks to effectively manage them, evaluate current and future risk challenges and opportunities, and ultimately enhance shareholder value.
The ERM Summer Internship Program is an opportunity for top students to gain relevant work experience in various aspects of risk management. The program offers interns challenging and meaningful work that allows them to demonstrate their abilities, apply knowledge acquired through college courses, and be evaluated for future employment opportunities within the Company. Interns will also be given opportunities to establish important relationships with experienced Risk professionals and potentially secure a full time position after graduation.
Risk Interns will be assigned to various areas of ERM(Market, Investment, Operational, Insurance, etc.), learn how different risks affect the financial results of the company, and understand how this knowledgecan be used to mitigate potentially adverse effects.
Intern Responsibilities:
- Prepare research and analyses related to the identification, assessment, and prioritization of risks across the organization
- Workindependently and with management to scope, plan, and manage various projects due to initiatives that arise from day-to-day business operations and regulatory oversight
- Develop various risk metrics and reportsto strengthen the internal control environment
Requirements & Skills:
- Candidates must be pursuing a college degree; BS/BA in Business,Economics or Finance strongly preferred
- Candidates can be in their freshman, sophomore, or junior year
- Minimum 3.2 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred
- Superior quantitative, analytical, communication (verbal & written) and leadership skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Resourcefulness, flexibility and creativity; process oriented with strong analytical skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
