Did you know that American Style Magazine has designated Cape Cod as the #1 arts destination in the
United States?
Consider what that means for Dennis, with our museum, theatre, galleries and many creative artists.
The Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, encourages the local cultural councils to fund their own projects in addition to the yearly grant funds we are given. The Dennis Arts & CultureCouncil (DACC) is seeking your help to continue our unique programs.
This year we have enhanced the Dennis Arts and Culture website. The site lists the artists, humanists,
studios and galleries, as well as the resources and activities available in town. It links to other relevant
sites and serves as a continually updated resource for both tourists and community members
These are recent projects made possible by your support: the third annual photo contest which highlights Dennis sites, Dennis Reads Civil War encampment, October Fall for the Arts with local musicians, craftspeople and venues for all ages. In 2012 we will host several of the DennisPort free summer concerts. The state has initiated a new program. This allows the local councils to work with the town to establish specific geographical areas as ‘Cultural Districts’. We have already begun work on that.
