POSITION TITLE: / Volunteer Operations Officer

MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION: / The Volunteer Operations Officer will be responsible for the effective recruitment, training and ongoing relationships with all volunteers, ensuring they have a positive Chase and Tyler Foundationvolunteer experience and are advocates for the foundation.
TIME REQUIREMENT: / 2 - 4 hours per week.
OTHER: / The position is voluntary (unpaid) and will work remotely as the foundation does not have a physical office space. Communication with various foundation staff will be by email, Skype and phone with the position holder required to own and maintain their own reliable personal computer, telephone and internet access.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA /
  • Demonstrated experience in volunteer management including experience in volunteer recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Proven highly developed organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent records management and general office administration including proficiency in MS Office or similar software and experience using databases.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated experience in project coordination, including design, analysis and implementation of projects
  • Understanding of Community Development Principles.
  • Experience and/or skills in training and development.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, and sound ability to solve complex problems.

POSITION SUMMARY /
  • Conduct volunteer recruitment tasks.
  • Contribute to the development of sourcing strategies to meet volunteer resourcing needs.
  • Maintenance of volunteer records in the data base.
  • Answering telephone calls, handling all volunteerenquiries and referring calls appropriately.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the Director of Volunteer Operations and the Volunteer Operations Team to discuss and resolve issues, set targets and generally provide support and continuity across volunteer-run operations.
  • Use social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) toattract, engage and retain volunteers by sharing relevant stories and information.
  • Champion and be an advocate for volunteering at the Chase and Tyler Foundation.
  • Meet bi-monthly with the Volunteer Operations Team, Director of Volunteer Operations and the Managing Director to encourage the use of volunteers by identifying where volunteers could assist with the achievement of the organisation’s business plans.
  • Support the Chase and Tyler foundation events where appropriate.
  • Identify, establish and maintain relationships with organisations and networks where volunteers may be sourced.
