Scholarship Information Sheet

Legacy of Alpha Phi Scholarship is a scholarship established at Drury University in honor of the Gamma Gamma chapter of Alpha Phi at Drury University, which existed from 1951 to 1982. The Legacy of Alpha Phi Scholarship rewards outstanding students that have displayed exemplary character in leadership, intellectual curiosity and service to the Drury Greek community and in their lives.

Alpha Phi Scholarship Funds:

  • Award value is $500
  • One-time distribution of funds
  • Award funds assist with Drury University Tuition & Drury University Fees
  • Award funds are distributed to Drury University Student Account in the fall semester following the award announcement
  • First choice would go to an Alpha Phi relative. Membership documentation must be provided. If no Alpha Phi relative applies or if membership cannot be documented, then the scholarship would go to any deserving Greek student.

Alpha Phi Scholarship Eligibility Standards:

  • In good academic standing at Drury University as an undergraduate, day-school student
  • Attending Drury University for the next, current academic year as a full-time, day school student (on campus/study abroad)
  • Have demonstrated financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
  • Initiated member that is in good standing with a Drury University Greek social organization
  • Has not received any disciplinary sanctions from Drury University
  • New application required each year for consideration

Directions:Applicants should complete all sections of the Legacy of Alpha Phi Scholarship Application fully and accurately.

Return completed application to Student Activities Office by March 1.

  • The scholarship application (not including transcript) should not exceedthree pages total
  • Information may be listed from nominee’s entire collegiate career at Drury University
  • Late entries will not be accepted
  • False information listed on this form will eliminate an applicants ability to receive the scholarship
  • The Student ActivitiesOffice will verify all financial need information
  • The decision of the Legacy of Alpha Phi Scholarshipselection committee is final

Alpha Phi Application Packet must include:

  • Do not include this information sheet
  • Completed, typed Alpha Phi Application Worksheet(Up to two pages for Application Worksheet)
  • One Recommendation Form(web document)

Scholarship Recommendation Process

  • Select person to complete your scholarship recommendation.
  • Recommendation may be from a Drury University Employee or a mentor that has developed you through your Greek chapter/council involvement (may include: alumni, chapter big brother/sister, New Member Educator, chapter/council president, current chapter member/mentor)
  • Recommendation forms cannot be completed by Greek Advisor or scholarship committee members
  • Inform recommendation writer which scholarship you’re applying for and the due date for completion.
  • Direct recommendation writer to the recommendation form link online:
  • If you are applying for multiple scholarships, the same recommendation forms may be used. Your recommendation writer will only need to write one recommendation and signify which awards you are applying for on the recommendation form.
