Position Title: Technology Integration Coach

Classification: Certified

FTE/Contracted Days/Salary: 7:45-3:30; 1.0 FTE; 5 additional days; Per Master Contract with Additional Days at a Per Diem Rate

Immediate Supervisor: Director of Technology

Section II: Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Basic Function:

The job of Technology Integration Coach was established for the purpose/s of improving student performance by interfacing with teachers to facilitate the integration of technology into teaching and learning by developing and conducting professional development sessions on infusing technology into the core areas of academic curriculum; maintaining training facility resources and equipment; providing input and recommendations regarding software purchases and district technology plans; and providing input/insight on ways to increase teachers' use of technology as it positively impacts student performance in the classroom.

The Technology Integration Coach will work as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning and growth. The Technology Integration Coach will focus on individual and group professional learning to refine instruction focused on student growth through personalized and differentiated instruction. The coach will promote teacher innovation and reflection. In order to meet this purpose, the Technology Integration Coach will provide personalized support based on the goals and identified needs of teachers, both individually and in small groups, through the use of district assessment data, curriculum maps, and the SAMR framework. The coach will work to develop an effective Instructional Technology Integration process that results in measurable improvement of engagement and learning for every EC-12 student.

Roles and Responsibilities:

·  Communicate and demonstrate differentiated and personalized instructional practices that result in student growth.

·  Provide support in analyzing student assessment data and assist teachers with designing instructional decisions based on assessment data.

·  Work directly with the Director of Technology, Technology Integration Specialist, Principals, Instructional Coaches, Teachers, and support staff as needed.

·  Develop instructional technology solutions and related training materials for the purpose of providing users with tools needed to support student growth.

·  Actively meet with staff to plan the integration of technology into core instruction.

·  When appropriate, lead class instruction in support of curricular objectives.

·  Instruct and support teachers with curriculum hardware, software, & traditional resources, and classroom/curriculum/instructional related technologies and practices.

·  Identify and support teacher integration of technology at the augmentation, modification and redefinition layers of the SAMR framework.

·  Facilitate the professional development of teachers and support staff through building positive relationships and providing instructional coaching to teachers, support staff, and administrators.

·  Conduct appropriate training for teachers and staff on the use and integration of educational technology.

·  Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community.

·  Develop and maintain a confidential, collegial relationship with staff members.

·  Respect and maintain confidentiality in the performance of all assigned duties.

·  Encourage ongoing professional growth for all teachers through the development of a Professional Learning Network.

·  Co-teach and model lessons as needed.

·  Assist with development, refinement, and implementation of district curriculum, instruction and assessments.

·  Assist with the identification, selection, and development of resources to support learning.

·  Attend workshops/conferences to learn about new innovative instructional strategies.

·  Support teachers, staff members, and students with the identification and implementation of instructional and assistive technology.

·  Assist in the maintenance of the main school website, including maintenance and periodic updating of information.

·  Work with volunteers when appropriate.

·  Utilize emerging instructional technology to enhance student learning.

·  Participate in meetings, workshops and/or trainings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.

·  Prepare documentation (e.g. user guides, recommendations, lesson plans, reports, instructions, memos, instructional videos, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.

·  Research instructional technology related student achievement for the purpose of making recommendations and assisting with the design and implementation in order to meet the District master plan for instructional technology.

·  Meet regularly with the Director of Technology and Technology Integration Specialist.

·  Assist in the planning of technology professional learning.

·  Attend Technology Committee meetings.

·  Research and provide information and guidance regarding a range of effective and innovative practices through various activities such as: individual discussions (informal and formal), coaching sessions, demonstration lessons with pre- and post- discussion/analysis, study groups, staff meetings, and professional development programs.

·  Other duties as assigned.

Section III: Requirements and Characteristics

Basic Requirements: 1 year working within DCSD; 3 years of teaching experience

Licensure: BA/BS degree; Master’s degree in job related area is preferred. Valid Iowa teaching license.

Essential knowledge and specialized subject knowledge required to perform the essential functions of the job:

·  Knowledge of research data and best practices for increasing student achievement.

·  Knowledge of current researched based intervention programs integrating technology.

·  Leadership skills in the area of team facilitation practices and principles.

·  Demonstrates effective communication skills when working collaboratively and coaching others.

·  Ability to train and support others in current effective coaching practices.

·  Ability to motivate adults to transform their practice.

·  Ability to facilitate, communicate orally and in writing, and engage in active listening.

·  Ability to problem solve, analyze issues, create plans of action, and reach solutions.

·  Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing work environment where change is driven by current research and applied data analysis.

·  Knowledge of quality teaching strategies integrating technology.
